TantumVerde® gargle solution, containing the active ingredient benzydamine, has anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties. It is used for the symptomatic treatment of painful inflammation and swelling in the mouth and throat.
The active ingredient benzydamine has anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties. Due to its rapid absorption and local accumulation in inflamed tissues, symptoms subside quickly. Tantum Verde – gargle solution is well tolerated locally and provides targeted relief from symptoms of inflammation and difficulty swallowing.
Indications
- Symptomatic treatment of painful inflammation and swelling in the mouth and throat, such as gingivitis, periodontitis, tonsillitis, and inflammation of the pharyngeal mucosa and larynx, particularly in cases of the common cold. Support for conservative and extractive dental treatment and inflammation of the mucous membranes.

Directions for use
- Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, the recommended dose for adults, adolescents and children aged 5 years and over, provided they are able to avoid triggering the swallowing reflex, is to gargle with 15 ml (1 tablespoon or 4 pumps when using the 1000 ml bottle with a dosing pump) of undiluted solution 2–3 times a day after meals.
- The gargle should be carried out for approximately 20–30 seconds. Younger children (aged 2–5 years) should only be treated with Tantum Verde gargle solution on medical advice. As the swallowing reflex is not yet fully developed, it is recommended that children aged 2–5 years use Tantum Verde oral spray where possible.
- Tantum Verde gargle solution is not suitable for children under 2 years of age. Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor or dentist, the dosage recommendation also applies to older patients. Tantum Verde mouthwash is a ready-to-use solution and is used undiluted for mouth rinses and gargling.

Ingredients
- The active ingredient is: benzydamine hydrochloride. 1 ml contains 1.5 mg of benzydamine hydrochloride.
- The other ingredients are: ethanol 96%, glycerol, methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate (E 218), peppermint flavouring (contains benzyl alcohol, 3-phenylprop-2-en-1-ol (cinnamon alcohol), citral, citronellol, geraniol, isoeugenol, linalool, eugenol and D-limonene), saccharin, sodium bicarbonate, polysorbate 20, quinoline yellow (E 104), patent blue (E 131), purified water.
