- Primrose and thyme have been tried and tested medicinal plants for coughs and bronchitis for centuries. They are combined in Bronchostop® Bronchitis acute drops and form a powerful duo to combat bronchitis with a productive cough thanks to their mucolytic and expectorant effect.
- After ingestion, the valuable essential oils of thyme penetrate deep into the bronchial tubes, dissolve thick mucus, promote expectoration, relax the bronchial tubes and have a local antiseptic effect.
- Primrose, also known to many as primrose, also has an expectorant and sputum-promoting effect. In the case of bronchitis with a productive cough, it therefore helps to liquefy the secretions in the airways, making it easier to cough up and combating the inflammation in the bronchi. The saponins responsible for the expectorant effect are mainly found in the roots.
- Thyme and primrose have an expectorant effect via different mechanisms and therefore complement each other perfectly.
Dosage form
Directions for use
- Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over: 34 drops 5 times a day. Total daily dose: 170 drops (corresponds to 2.2 g thyme liquid extract and 1.1 g primrose root tincture per day)
- Children aged 6-11 years: 29 drops 3-5 times a day. Total daily dose: up to 145 drops (corresponds to 1.9 g thyme liquid extract and 0.9 g primrose root tincture per day)
- Children under 6 years: The use in children under 6 years is not recommended due to lack of data and due to the alcohol content (see Warnings and Precautions).
- Route of administration: Oral use: If possible, take BRONCHOSTOP Bronchitis acute undiluted (e.g. applied to sugar). However, you can also take BRONCHOSTOP Bronchitis acute diluted (with a little water or warm tea).
- Duration of use: If you do not feel better or even worse after 7 days, consult your doctor.
Ingredients
- The active ingredients are: 1 ml (equivalent to 0.98 g or approx. 31 drops) contains: 392 mg liquid extract of thyme (Thymi herba), drug-extract ratio (DEV) 1:2-2.5; extracting agent: ammonia solution 10% (m/m) : glycerol 85% (m/m) : ethanol 90% (V/V) : Water in the ratio 1 : 20 : 70 : 109 196 mg tincture of primrose root (Primulae radix), drug-extractant ratio = 1:5, extractant: ethanol 50% (V/V).
- The other ingredients are: purified water, ethanol 96%, glycerol 85%, glycerol 99.5%, Betadex, sucralose, peppermint oil, methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate, propyl 4-hydroxybenzoate, concentrated ammonia solution.
