Cough ACC Hexal acute 200 mg dissolvable tablets are a non-prescription medicine containing the active substance: acetylcysteine. This active ingredient has expectorant properties and liquefies viscous lung and nasal secretions.

Cough ACC Hexal acute contains the active substance acetylcysteine, which has mucolytic properties. Acetylcysteine acts specifically on those components of the mucus that make it thick. Cough ACC Hexal acute liquefies thick lung and nasal secretions. This promotes expectoration, reduces the urge to cough and makes breathing easier. Acetylcysteine, the active ingredient of Husten ACC Hexal akut, is made up of the body's own substances acetate and cysteine.

Cough ACC Hexal acute is used to loosen mucus and facilitate its removal in acute and chronic respiratory diseases with thick mucus and reduced mucus transport in adults, adolescents and children from 2 years of age.

Directions for use

• Children from 2 - 5 years: 2 - 3 times daily ½ tablet (corresponding to 200 - 300 mg acetylcysteine per day).
• Children and adolescents from 6 - 14 years: 1 tablet twice daily (equivalent to 400 mg acetylcysteine per day).
• Adults and adolescents aged 14 years and over: 2 - 3 times daily 1 tablet (corresponding to 400 - 600 mg acetylcysteine per day).
• Cough ACC Hexal acute 200 mg - dissolvable tablets must not be used in children under 2 years of age and whole tablets of Cough ACC Hexal acute 200 mg - dissolvable tablets should not be used in children under 6 years of age due to the high active substance content.
• Route of administration: Oral use. The tablet is taken after meals, dissolved in a glass of water. The ready-to-use solution should be taken without delay.
• Duration of use: For acute respiratory diseases, the duration of treatment is generally 4 - 5 days. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of Cough ACC Hexal Acute is too strong or too weak or that you do not feel better or even worse after 4 - 5 days.
