SNUP Acute Nasal Spray 0.1% is a medicine to reduce swelling of the nasal mucosa in the case of a cold, in the case of a runny nose (rhinitis vasomotorica) and allergic rhinitis (rhinitis allergica). To facilitate the drainage of secretions in the case of catarrh in the nasal and middle ear area in connection with a cold.

A well-functioning nose is extremely important for our well-being. It is not only there for smelling. It also cleans the air that we breathe in, ensures its optimum temperature and humidity and thus protects us from infections and illnesses.
The cilia of the nasal mucosa play an important role here. These are part of a sensitive system that is exposed to many stresses. Not only by allergy-triggering substances, but also by excessively dry air, e.g. from air conditioning and excessive heating. In addition, there are well over 200 cold viruses during the cold season.
The consequences of a viral cold are not only unpleasant (the nose "runs", the nasal mucosa swells, breathing is impeded), but they also prevent restful sleep, and complications can include sinusitis and middle ear infections or even respiratory diseases such as bronchitis. SNUP® acute nasal spray is free from preservatives. This makes SNUP® acute nasal spray particularly effective against colds and gentle on the nose.

Directions for use
Adults, adolescents and children over 10 years of age: 1 spray (0.09 ml) in each nostril, not more than 3 times a day and for a maximum of 7 consecutive days. After using the medicine, you must wait at least 6 hours before using the next dose.
Snup® acute 0.05 % nasal spray is available for children under 10 years of age. Depending on the extent and nature of the symptoms (nasal congestion on one or both sides), the medicine can initially be used only in the more blocked nostril until the symptoms on this side have improved.
Duration of use: If you feel neither better nor worse after 7 days of treatment, the clinical situation will be reassessed by your doctor. The recommended dose should not be exceeded. A doctor should be consulted about the duration of treatment in children.
Route of administration: For nasal application, five sprays in the air should be made before the first application to achieve a consistent spray. For all subsequent applications, the nasal spray is ready for use from the first application. This procedure should be repeated if the spray has not been used for several days.
The following conditions apply:
- 4 to 14 days of non-use: 1 spray in the air
- More than 14 days of non-use: 5 sprays in the air
Clean the outside of the nozzle with a clean, soft cloth before replacing the cap after use. For reasons of hygiene and to avoid infection, the nasal spray should only be used by one person.
Ingredients
The active ingredient is: xylometazoline hydrochloride
1 ml solution contains 1 mg xylometazoline hydrochloride.
1 spray (0.09 ml solution) contains 0.09 mg xylometazoline hydrochloride.
The other ingredients are: seawater, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, purified water.
