Sucralan® 1 g/5 ml oral suspension - glass bottle, 250 ml

Sucralan® liquid 1 g/5 ml oral suspension is a non-prescription medicine containing the active substance: sucralfate. Sucralan® acts locally, directly on the oesophageal, gastric and duodenal mucosa.

It forms a film on the surface that protects the damaged area from the aggressive effect of gastric juice. It accelerates healing and leads to an improvement in symptoms.

It forms a film on the surface of the ulcers that protects the damaged area from the aggressive effect of gastric juice. It accelerates the healing of gastric and duodenal ulcers and leads to an improvement in symptoms

Sucralan® is used

• to treat gastric and duodenal ulcers, relieve discomfort and accelerate ulcer healing.
• to prevent the recurrence of gastric and duodenal ulcers after they have healed.
• for oesophagitis due to reflux of stomach contents (reflux oesophagitis).
• to prevent stress haemorrhage in intensive care medicine.

Directions for use

• Adults and adolescents over 14 years of age: 5 ml corresponds to 1 sachet or, if filled in a bottle, to the 5 ml mark on the enclosed measuring cup. Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, the recommended dose is: 4 times 5 ml daily, after meals and in the evening before going to bed.
• Method of administration: Oral use. Knead the sachet or shake the bottle before taking the suspension. Pour the contents of one sachet directly into the mouth or onto a tablespoon and take. The suspension should be taken after meals. A further dose shortly before going to bed is also recommended. Water can be drunk afterwards.
• Duration of use: Sucralan should not be taken for longer than 2 weeks without consulting a doctor. If the symptoms persist or have worsened after 2 weeks or if the symptoms return quickly, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Ingredients

• What Sucralan contains - The active ingredient is sucralfate. 5 ml suspension contains 1 g sucralfate (basic aluminium sucrose sulphate corresponding to 175 mg aluminium).
• The other ingredients are methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate (E 218), propyl 4-hydroxybenzoate (E 216), sorbitol solution (E 420), sodium citrate (E 331), anhydrous citric acid (E 330), hydroxyethyl cellulose, caramel flavouring, purified water.
