This medicine is used for adults, adolescents and children aged 2 years and over. If you do not feel better or even worse after 7 days, consult your doctor.
Prospan® provides 3-fold relief from coughs
- Mucolytic: Dissolves the mucus stuck in the bronchial tubes and thus supports coughing.
- Relaxes the bronchial muscles: Breathe freely again: Thanks to the relaxing effect on the bronchial tubes, constricted airways are widened.
- Relieves cough irritation: Relieves the urge to cough so that you can quickly return to everyday life undisturbed by coughing attacks.
With the power of ivy, Prospan loosens the mucus, clears the bronchial tubes and soothes the cough. Prospan is purely herbal, well tolerated, suitable for all ages and available in various application forms.

- Adults and adolescents aged 12 and over: 3 - 5 x 20 drops.
- Children from 6-11 years: 2 - 3 x 15 drops.
- Children from 2-5 years: 2 - 3 x 10 drops.
- Instructions for use: Prospan® - Cough Drops must not be used in children under 2 years of age because of the menthol content (risk of laryngospasm) and because of the alcohol content.
- Method of application: Oral, it is recommended to take the drops with some liquid. In children, it is advised to administer the drops together with sugar, fruit juice or sweet porridge.
- Duration of use: If you do not feel better or even worse after 7 days, consult your doctor.
Ingredients
- What Prospan Cough Drops contain - The active ingredient is: dried ivy leaf extract 1 ml (= 29 drops) contains 20.0 mg dried ivy leaf extract (ratio of drug to extract 5-7.5:1; extractant: ethanol 30% (m/m)).
- The other ingredients are: saccharin sodium, fennel flavouring, peppermint oil, ethanol 96% (total ethanol content approx. 47% by volume), purified water.
