Prospan® cough drops are a herbal medicine used to loosen phlegm in cases of cough associated with colds. The drops make it easier to cough up phlegm, relax the bronchial muscles and thus soothe the cough.

This medicine is suitable for adults, adolescents and children aged 2 years and over. If you do not feel any better after 7 days, or if you feel worse, consult your doctor.

Prospan® provides triple-action relief from coughs

Expectorant: Loosens stuck-on phlegm in the bronchi, helping you to cough it up.
Relaxes the bronchial muscles: Breathe freely again: thanks to its relaxing effect on the bronchi, narrowed airways are widened.
Cough-soothing: Soothes the urge to cough, so you can quickly get back to your daily routine without being bothered by coughing fits.

Harnessing the power of ivy, Prospan loosens mucus, clears the bronchi and thus soothes the cough. Prospan is purely herbal, well tolerated, suitable for all ages and available in various forms.

Prospan cough drops are the classic cough remedy for anyone who prefers to dose the medicine individually and dilute it with water or juice. They are flavourless, sugar-free and contain no colourings. Suitable for children aged 2 and over and for diabetics.

The triple power of ivy in its classic form: Prospan® cough drops are taken diluted in water, tea or juice and are suitable for children aged two and over. They also help to ensure an additional intake of fluids.

Directions for use

Adults and young people aged 12 and over: 3–5 times daily, 20 drops each time.
Children aged 6–11 years: 15 drops, 2–3 times a day.
Children aged 2–5 years: 2–3 times 10 drops.
Notes: Prospan® cough drops must not be used in children under 2 years of age due to their menthol content (risk of laryngospasm) and their alcohol content.
Method of administration: For oral use. It is recommended to take the drops with a little liquid. For children, it is advised to administer the drops together with sugar, fruit juice or sweet porridge.
Duration of use: If you do not feel any better or actually feel worse after 7 days, consult your doctor.

Ingredients

What Prospan Cough Drops contain - The active ingredient is: dry extract of ivy leaves 1 ml (= 29 drops) contains 20.0 mg of dried ivy leaf extract (ratio of drug to extract 5–7.5:1; extraction solvent: 30% ethanol (m/m)).
The other ingredients are: sodium saccharin, fennel flavouring, peppermint oil, ethanol 96% (total ethanol content approx. 47% by volume), purified water.
