Lymphdiaral® Basic Drops are a homeopathic medicinal product indicated for use in cases of a tendency towards infections affecting the lymph nodes and tonsils.
Homeopathy is regarded as a regulatory therapy for acute and chronic illnesses. The indications are derived from the homeopathic remedy profiles.
The following indications are authorised for this medicine:
- A tendency towards infections and inflammatory conditions, particularly those involving the local lymphatic system with swelling of the lymph nodes and tonsils,
- infections of the tonsils, ears and sinuses.
The use of this homeopathic remedy in the aforementioned indications is based solely on homeopathic experience. In severe forms of these conditions, a clinically proven treatment is indicated. If you do not feel better or even feel worse after 7 days, consult your doctor.

- The lymphatic system plays a vital role in successfully fighting off infections. It is particularly well-developed in the ear, nose and throat (ENT) area, which is the entry point for most pathogens: The tonsils, lymph nodes and mucous membranes, with their immune-boosting lymphocytes, are concentrated here. Inflammation and swelling in these parts of the lymphatic system are a sign that the immune system is working at full capacity in these areas.

- In total, Lymphdiaral® Basic Drops combine 12 natural active ingredients. Three key active ingredients in Lymphdiaral® Basic Drops are dandelion (Taraxacum), marigold (Calendula) and celandine (Chelidonium). Dandelion is also known as ‘the purifier’. It helps with cold-related symptoms. Marigold (the wound-healer) aids healing and helps with a tendency to catch colds.
- Celandine (Chelidonium), known as ‘the gift from heaven’, helps with low energy levels and inflammation. Through this natural synergy, Lymphdiaral® Basic Drops support the healing of inflammatory processes in the upper respiratory tract and strengthen the immune system to aid the healing process.
How is the lymphatic system structured and how does it work?
- The lymphatic system consists of lymphatic vessels, which branch out into the finest capillaries, the lymph nodes, and other lymphatic organs such as the spleen, thymus and the lymphatic structures of the respiratory and digestive tracts. The lymphatic system is highly branched: if the lymphatic vessels were laid end to end, they would stretch for over 90,000 kilometres. The control centres of the lymphatic system are the approximately 600 lymph nodes in the body.
- As part of our body’s immune system, lymph nodes filter pathogens – amongst other things – out of the lymph fluid, render them harmless and remove them from the body. The lymphatic fluid in the lymphatic vessels is often simply referred to as ‘lymph’. Unlike blood, lymph is a mostly clear, watery fluid, although its composition is similar to that of blood plasma. Lymph is formed in the tissue between the cells and is then transported towards the heart via lymph vessels that gradually increase in size.
What is the lymphatic system responsible for?
Above all, the lymph nodes and lymphatic organs – such as the tonsils in the throat – specifically produce and activate the immune cells needed to respond effectively to an infection and, if necessary, stop it. These are known as lymphocytes. Lymphocytes are a type of white blood cell and are transported via the blood and lymph. You can tell that the lymph nodes are under particular strain when they swell and become palpable (sometimes painfully so).
The lymph nodes in the human body are mainly concentrated in the tissues of the groin, armpits and neck. There is a simple explanation for why the neck in particular is so closely ‘guarded’ by the immune system: The tissues of the neck contain so many lymphatic structures (tonsils, lymph nodes, mucous membranes) because the neck is the main entry point for pathogens from the environment. Near the heart, the large lymphatic vessels then drain into the blood vessel system.
Unlike the blood circulation, however, the lymphatic system has no central pump to drive the lymph forward. Instead of a central heart, the lymphatic system has countless tiny ‘motors’: the lymphatic vessels are divided into small sections (‘lymphangions’) bounded by two valves.
Each lymphatic vessel has its own small pump – a ‘little heart’, so to speak. This causes the section of the vessel to contract, and the resulting pressure pumps the lymph fluid into the next lymphangion.
Tips for supporting the lymphatic system
- Fluid is important, so: drink plenty of fluids. This also helps the lymph system carry out its transport function!
- Warm drinks, such as tea or drinks containing ginger, lemon and honey, soothe an irritated throat.
- Take it easy!
- Eat a balanced diet with fresh fruit and vegetables. Vitamins are good for a weakened body and strengthen the immune system.
- Throat compresses (potato compresses, lemon compresses, quark compresses) help to combat inflammation, a congested throat or swollen lymph nodes. You can also use Lymphdiaral® drainage ointment for a throat compress, e.g. overnight.

Adults and children aged 12 and over
- Acute: Take 10 drops every half hour to an hour, up to a maximum of 6 times a day.
- Chronic: Take 10 drops 1 to 3 times a day.
Children aged between 7 and 12
- Acute: Take 7 drops every half hour to every hour, up to a maximum of 6 times a day.
- Chronic: Take 7 drops 1 to 3 times a day.
Young children aged between 1 and 6
- Acute: Take 5 drops every half hour to every hour, up to a maximum of 6 times a day.
- Chronic: Take 5 drops 1 to 3 times a day.
Once improvement begins, the dosage should be reduced. It can then be continued as described under ‘chronic’.
