Dr Böhm® Milk Thistle 140 mg Capsules are a herbal medicine to improve liver function as a supportive treatment for complaints caused by liver dysfunction.

The drug therapy does not replace the avoidance of causes that damage the liver (e.g. alcohol). This medicine is used in adults aged 18 years and over. If you do not feel better or even worse after 3 weeks, consult your doctor.

Milk thistle was already known as a medicinal plant in ancient times. Since the middle of the 18th century, it has been used primarily for liver complaints. The fruit of the milk thistle contains a special complex of active ingredients known as silymarin, which prevents harmful substances from entering the liver and helps weakened liver cells to recover. The benefits of milk thistle for toxic - e.g. alcohol-induced - or virus-induced liver damage have been proven by numerous studies.

• Adults: 1 capsule 3 times daily.
• Use in children and adolescents: Use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age is not recommended due to lack of data.
• Route of administration: Oral use. The capsules should be taken whole with a sufficient amount of liquid.
• Duration of use: If you do not feel better or even worse after 3 weeks, consult your doctor. The duration of use is generally not limited.

Ingredients

• 1 hard capsule contains 177.4-240.4 mg dry extract of milk thistle fruits (Silybi mariani extractum siccum raffinatum et normatum), DEV (drug extract ratio) 21-45:1, extractant acetone 95% V/V, corresponding to 140 mg silymarin (UV-VIS) or 108.2 mg silymarin (HPLC, calculated as silibinin).
• The other ingredients are: Mannitol, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, highly dispersed silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, gelatine, sodium dodecyl sulphate, iron oxides (red, E-172).
