Clotrimazole acts on the surface of the mucous membrane, is quickly absorbed into the mucous membrane and also acts in the deeper layers of the mucous membrane.

Candibene 100 mg vaginal tablets are colourless and odourless and generally well tolerated.

Candibene 100 mg vaginal tablets are used for

Infectious discharge caused by fungi (Candida),
inflammation of the vagina caused by fungi (mostly Candida species) and/or trichomonads (certain protozoa),
Re-infection with bacteria that are sensitive to the active ingredient clotrimazole contained in Candibene (so-called superinfection).

Your doctor may prescribe an additional antibiotic to reliably eliminate Trichomonas vaginalis infections.

If you do not feel better or even worse after 3 days, consult your doctor.

How to use

Candibene 100 mg vaginal tablets are inserted deep into the vagina once a day - in the evening before going to bed - for 6 consecutive days using the applicator.

Note: The vaginal tablets need moisture to dissolve completely. If the vagina is dry, the vaginal tablet may not dissolve completely. This can be recognised by the fact that crumbly parts of the tablet are excreted. To prevent this, it is important to insert the tablet as deeply as possible, preferably before going to bed. If an inflammation of the glans and foreskin of the partner is diagnosed due to yeast fungi, the partner must also be treated locally with suitable preparations.

Method of application

Candibene 100 mg vaginal tablets are best inserted as deeply as possible into the vagina using the applicator while lying on your back with your legs slightly raised. During pregnancy, the vaginal tablets are used without the applicator.

Use of Candibene 100 mg vaginal tablets with applicator:

The vaginal tablet is removed from the aluminium packaging and placed in the shape of the applicator.
The applicator with vaginal tablet is then inserted as deeply as possible into the vagina. The vaginal tablet is placed in the vagina by carefully pushing the inner rod A as far as it will go.
After use, the applicator is removed from the vagina and carefully cleaned with warm water. For cleaning, the inner rod A is pulled completely out of the applicator B. Be careful when cleaning: Do not use boiling water!

Use of Candibene 100 mg vaginal tablets without applicator:

The vaginal tablet can also be inserted into the vagina by hand . Please wash your hands thoroughly before use and afterwards.

Duration of use

In general, a 6-day treatment is sufficient for vaginitis, especially if it is caused by fungi.
If the symptoms persist for longer than 7 days, other treatment measures should be considered. In general, the symptoms of vaginal mycosis (such as itching, discharge, burning sensation) decrease significantly within the first four days after starting treatment.
If necessary, treatment can be repeated, but recurrent infections may indicate an underlying disease. If the symptoms recur within 2 months, additional clarification must be considered.

Ingredients

The active ingredient is clotrimazole.

1 vaginal tablet contains 100 mg clotrimazole.

The other ingredients are: lactose monohydrate, maize starch, adipic acid, sodium hydrogen carbonate, copolyvidone , magnesium stearate, highly dispersed silicon dioxide, polysorbate 80.
