Canesten® Clotrimazole Cream, 30 G

Canesten Cream is a medicine used to treat fungal infections (mycoses) of the skin and mucous membranes. Thanks to the broad spectrum of activity of clotrimazole ,the cream is effective against many different pathogens that can cause fungal skin infections in humans.

When applied topically, itinhibits the growth of or kills yeast fungi (which cause infections of the labia and adjacent areas, as well as inflammation of the glans and foreskin in men) and the fungal species associated with athlete’s foot and nail fungus . The cream does not just act on the skin’s surface; it also penetratesinto the deeper layers of the skin.

When is Canesten Clotrimazole Cream used?

Canesten Clotrimazole Cream is used to treat fungal infections of the feet – usually between the toes, on the soles of the feet and on the nails – as well as infections of the labia and surrounding areas caused by yeast fungi (Candida vulvitis); inflammation of the glans and foreskin in men, caused by yeast fungi (Candida balanitis). Itchy blisters, redness and flaking, as well as swelling, are usually clear signs of a fungal infection.

Indications

Directions for use

• Fungal infections of the feet and nails: Apply a thin layer of the cream to the affected areas of skin 2–3 times a day and rub in thoroughly. The treatment duration is at least 4 weeks.
• Infections of the labia (Candida vulvitis), inflammation of the glans and foreskin in men (Candida balanitis): 1–3 times a day. The general duration of treatment is 1–2 weeks.
• Consult a doctor if your symptoms have not improved within 4 weeks of starting treatment.
  

Ingredients

The active ingredient is clotrimazole. 1 g of cream contains 0.01 g of clotrimazole.

The other ingredients are cetylstearyl alcohol, benzyl alcohol, sorbitan monostearate, polysorbate 60, cetyl palmitate, octyldodecanol and purified water.
