Canesten® Clotrimazole Cream, 30 G

Canesten cream is a medicinal product for the treatment of fungal infections (mycoses) of the skin and mucous membranes. Due to the broad spectrum of activity of clotrimazole, the cream is effective against many different pathogens that can cause fungal infections of the skin in humans.

Local applicationinhibits or kills thegrowth of yeast fungi (which cause infections of the labia, neighbouring areas and inflammation of the glans and foreskin in men) and the types of fungi found in athlete's foot and nail infections. The cream not only acts on the surface of the skin, it also penetrates into the deeper layers of the skin.

When is Canesten Clotrimazole Cream used?

Canesten Clotrimazole Cream is used for fungal infections of the feet, mostly in the area between the toes, the sole of the foot and the nails, as well as for infections of the labia and neighbouring areas caused by yeast fungi (candida vulvitis); inflammation of the glans penis and foreskin in men caused by yeast fungi (candida balanitis). Itchy blisters, redness, scaling and swelling are usually clear signs of a fungal infection.

Uses

• Fungal foot and nail infections: The cream is applied thinly to the affected areas of skin 2-3 times a day and rubbed in. The treatment period is at least 4 weeks.
• Infections of the labia (candida vulvitis), inflammation of the glans and foreskin of the man (candida balanitis): 1-3 times daily. The general duration of treatment is 1-2 weeks.
• Consult a doctor if the symptoms have not improved within 4 weeks of starting treatment.
  

Ingredients

The active ingredient is clotrimazole. 1 g cream contains 0.01 g clotrimazole.

The other ingredients are cetylstearyl alcohol, benzyl alcohol, sorbitan monostearate, polysorbate 60, cetyl palmitate, octyldodecanol, purified water.
