Ein Harnwegsinfekt macht sich durch Schmerzen und Brennen beim Wasserlassen, häufigen Harndrang und Schmerzen im Unterleib bemerkbar. Es gibt eine ganze Reihe an Heilpflanzen, welche die Symptome lindern und die Leidensdauer verkürzen können.

So hat zum Beispiel die Bärentraube desinfizierende Eigenschaften und kann bei wiederkehrenden Blasenentzündungen eine sinnvolle Therapieoption sein. Sie sollte aber nicht länger als eine Woche durchgängig und nicht häufiger als fünf Mal pro Jahr angewendet werden.

Rosmarin, Tausendgüldenkraut und Liebstöckl wirken gemeinsam schmerzlindernd, krampflösend, harntreibend und entzündungshemmend. In der Apotheke ist ein Kombinationspräparat erhältlich.
Harntreibend und deshalb ideal zum Ausspülen von Bakterien aus den Harnwegen sind zum Beispiel der Ackerschachtelhalm, die Goldrute oder der Hauhechel. Bei Letzterem wird vermutet, dass er auch das Bakterienwachstum hemmen kann.
D-Mannose, Preiselbeere und Cranberry helfen gegen das Anhaften von Bakterien an der Blasenwand und der Harnwege.
