The active ingredient paracetamol contained in ben-u-ron is a non-acidic antipyretic and has analgesic and antipyretic effects. ben-u-ron 250 mg suppositories are used for the symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain and/or fever.
Suitable for use in children from 2 years/13 kg body weight. Children under 3 years of age may only be given paracetamol on a doctor's prescription.
Not suitable for children under 2 years of age. For children over 8 years of age, adolescents and adults, ben-u-ron is available in other more suitable dosage forms and strengths.

How to use
How should ben-u-ron be used?
Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, you or your child should always use ben-u-ron exactly as described in this leaflet. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not quite sure. The dosage is based on the information in the table below. Paracetamol is dosed according to age and body weight, usually at 10 to 15 mg/kg body weight as a single dose, up to a maximum of 60 mg/kg body weight as a total daily dose. The respective dosing interval depends on the symptoms and the maximum total daily dose. It should not be less than 6 hours. If symptoms persist for more than 3 days, a doctor should be consulted.
13 kg - 15 kg (children 2 - 4 years):
- Single dose: 1 suppository (equivalent to 250 mg paracetamol)
- Max. Daily dose (24h): 3 suppositories (corresponding to 750 mg paracetamol)
16 kg - 25 kg (children 4 - 8 years):
- Single dose: 1 suppository (corresponding to 250 mg paracetamol)
- Max. Daily dose (24h): 5 suppositories (corresponding to 1,000 mg paracetamol)
Method of administration
If possible, the suppositories should be inserted deep into the anus after a bowel movement. To improve lubrication, warm the suppositories in your hand or dip them briefly in warm water.
