WICK Nasivin Classic 0.05 % - nasal spray, 10 ML

WICK Nasivin Classic 0.05% nasal spray is a medicinal product containing the active ingredient oxymetazoline hydrochloride, for the local treatment of a runny nose (acute, allergic or post-nasal drip).

WICK Nasivin Classic is a medicine for the local treatment of a runny nose. Spraying the solution into both nostrils reduces swelling of the inflamed nasal mucosa and decreases excessive mucus secretion. This enables free breathing through the nose. At the same time, it helps to keep the Eustachian tubes clear and reduces swelling of the throat lining.

Furthermore, the active ingredient has been shown to have antiviral, immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.

The effects of WICK Nasivin Classic set in within a few seconds (average onset of action: 25 seconds) and last for up to 12 hours. It has been shown that treatment with WICK Nasivin Classic, compared with the use of a physiological saline solution, reduces the duration of a cold from an average of 6 days to 4 days.

WICK Nasivin Classic is used:

• for the treatment of acute rhinitis (rhinitis acuta), allergic rhinitis (rhinitis allergica) and episodic runny nose (rhinitis vasomotorica).
• to facilitate the drainage of secretions in cases of sinusitis and in cases of tubal catarrh associated with a cold.
• for diagnostic decongestion of the mucous membranes.

If you do not feel any better, or if your condition worsens, after 7 days, consult your doctor.

Directions for use

• Adults, adolescents and school-age children (aged 6 years and over): 1 spray into each nostril 2–3 times a day.
  
• Children under 6 years of age: Other preparations are available for this age group, with a concentration of active ingredient suitable for this age group.
  
• Method of administration: For nasal use. Apply to both nostrils. When using for the first time, remove the protective cap, hold the spray bottle upright and pump several times until a uniform spray is released. Insert the spray nozzle into each nostril and spray once. After use, clean the spray nozzle and replace the protective cap.
• Duration of treatment: Treatment with WICK Nasivin Classic should be as short as possible and must not exceed a period of 7 days when used continuously. If symptoms have not subsided after 7 days’ use of WICK Nasivin Classic, consult a doctor before continuing treatment.

Ingredients

What WICK Nasivin Classic 0.05% – Nasal Spray contains:

• The active ingredient is: oxymetazoline hydrochloride. 1 ml of solution contains 0.5 mg of oxymetazoline hydrochloride. One spray contains approx. 45 microlitres of solution = 22 micrograms of oxymetazoline hydrochloride.
• The other ingredients are: 50% benzalkonium chloride solution, citric acid monohydrate, sodium citrate dihydrate, 85% glycerol, purified water.
