Venobene® Ointment, 40 G

Venobene® Ointment is an over-the-counter medicine with the active ingredients: Heparin sodium and dexpanthenol. The ointment is suitable for the supportive treatment of: Inflammation and blood clot formation in superficial veins, and much more.

Venobene ointment contains a combination of the active ingredients heparin and dexpanthenol.

• Heparin intervenes in the body's coagulation system at several points, thereby inhibiting the formation of blood clots and their further spread. Heparin also has an anti-inflammatory effect.
• Dexpanthenol is rapidly converted in the cells into pantothenic acid, which as a component of coenzyme A plays a central role in the metabolism of every cell. Pantothenic acid is necessary for building up the surfaces of skin and mucous membranes. It increases the rate of cell renewal and the tensile strength of connective tissue fibres during wound healing.

Venobene ointment is suitable for the supportive treatment of:

• Inflammation and blood clot formation in superficial veins and inflammation of the surrounding connective tissue,
• Haemorrhoids, pathological vascular dilatation in the anal area (perianal haematomas);
• Secondary conditions of venous diseases (varicose symptom complex),
• Sports and accident injuries such as haematomas, bruises and sprains.

Directions for use

• Adults: Unless otherwise prescribed, follow the dosage exactly: Apply the ointment 1-3 times daily to the affected areas of skin.
• Method of application: Apply a thin layer of ointment to the areas of skin to be treated and spread evenly without massaging.
• Duration of application: The duration of application depends on the severity and duration of the clinical picture. The usual duration of treatment for superficial phlebitis is 1 - 2 weeks.
• Instructions: There is insufficient experience regarding the use of Venobene ointment in children.
• Caution: Store in the refrigerator (2°C - 8°C). Do not freeze. After opening, the product can be kept for 1 year but not longer than the expiry date.

• What Venobene - Ointment contains The active ingredients are: Heparin sodium, dexpanthenol.
• 100 g ointment contains 30,000 I.U. heparin sodium (mucosa, 3rd WHO standard), 5.0 g dexpanthenol in a washable ointment base.
• The other ingredients are: Potassium sorbate, hydrochloric acid 25%, perfume oil Dolcenta, white vaseline, cetyl alcohol, Imwitor 960 K, Softisan 601, purified water.
