Sperti Preparation H haemorrhoid suppositories contain the active ingredients ethanol-based concentrated brewer’s yeast extract andshark liver oil, and are used to treat haemorrhoids in adults.

Haemorrhoids are nodular dilations of the veins in the anal region. They canoccur inside or immediatelyoutside the anus. Depending on their location, haemorrhoids cause bleeding (usually bright red blood on thestool), itching, a burning sensation and oozing, as well as a dull pressure and pain in the rectum.

Like Preparation H, it is an anti-inflammatory medicine for the treatment of haemorrhoids; it helpshaemorrhoids to shrink and relieves pain, a burning sensation, itching and stinging.

Directions for use

The recommended dose is:

Adults: Insert 1 suppository into the rectum in the morning and evening, and after each bowel movement.

For rectal use (for insertion into the anus).

First, tear off one suppository along the perforation.
Then carefully pull the two upper ends apart and remove the foil wrapper.
Insert the suppository as far as possible into the anus. It is best to lean forwards whilst doing so.

Treatment should not be stopped immediately after the first symptoms of the condition have subsided, but should be continued for at least 5 days to specifically help repair the damaged skin tissue.

Ingredients

The active ingredients are:ethanolic brewer’s yeast thick extract (skin respiration factor 162 E) and shark liver oil (shark liver oil and fish oil ina 1:1 ratio). 1 suppository contains: ethanol-based brewer’s yeast thick extract (Skin Respiration Factor 162 E) 23 mg, shark liver oil 69 mg.
The other ingredients are: hard fat, Paracera M, cocoa butter, polyethylene glycol-600-dilaurate, glycerine.
