DulcoSoft® oral solution, 250 ML

DulcoSoft® solution is a medical device for softening hard stools and for the symptomatic treatment of irregular, hard bowel movements.

If normal bowel function is slowed down, this can lead to hard, compact stools with difficult and painful bowel movements. DulcoSoft solution contains the osmotically active ingredient macrogol 4000, which binds water and thus increases the fluid content in the large intestine. This softens hard stools and makes it easier for them to pass through the bowel - for regular, easier bowel movements.

Macrogol 4000 has a purely physical effect. Absorption into the bloodstream is negligible; it remains in the intestine, from where it is excreted unchanged. The effectiveness of the product remains unchanged even after prolonged use.

DulcoSoft solution is used to:

• Softening of hard stools
• Relief of irregular, hard stools

• For a soft stool after 24-72 hours (usually within one day)

Directions for use

• Adults and children from 8 years of age: Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, the usual dose is: 20 to 40 ml solution (equivalent to 10 to 20 g macrogol 4000) per day, preferably as one dose in the morning.
• Children from 4 to 7 years: Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is: 16 to 32 ml of solution (equivalent to 8 to 16 g of Macrogol 4000) per day, preferably as one dose in the morning.
• Children from 2 to 3 years: Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is: 8 to 16 ml of solution (equivalent to 4 to 8 g of Macrogol 4000) per day, preferably as one dose in the morning.
  
• Method of administration: The dose of DulcoSoft solution is measured using the enclosed dosing cup and can be adjusted depending on the effect achieved. The correct dose is the lowest dose that results in regular, soft stools. Distribution: DulcoSoft solution is suitable for daily use. Depending on personal requirements, the recommended dosage can be taken daily or every 2nd day. DulcoSoft solution should only be taken diluted. DulcoSoft solution is flavourless and can be mixed with a drink of your choice, e.g. a glass (approx. 150 ml) of water, fruit juice or tea, to suit your personal taste.
• Please note: The effect of DulcoSoft solution usually occurs 24 to 72 hours after ingestion. Clinical studies show that with regular use, bowel evacuation usually occurs once a day. If constipation persists for longer, the cause should be investigated. Children should not take DulcoSoft solution for longer than 3 months.
• Pregnancy and breastfeeding: DulcoSoft solution can be taken during pregnancy and breastfeeding, as the absorption of macrogol 4000 is negligible and therefore no effects are to be expected. However, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, it is advisable to consult your doctor before taking DulcoSoft solution.
  
• Notes: DulcoSoft® Liquid should not be used for longer than 28 days. If the symptoms persist for longer, the cause should be investigated by a doctor.
  

Ingredients

• 10 ml oral solution contains: 5 g macrogol 4000 in dissolved form.
• Other ingredients: Macrogol 400, citric acid, potassium sorbate (preservative) and purified water.
