Product information "Talcid® chewable tablets"

chewable tablet contains 500 mg hydrotalcite, a substance that is a non-systemic antacid. Talcid® creates normal acidity conditions for a longer period of time by rapidly and permanently binding excess stomach acid.

Talcid very quickly and for up to 1 1/2 hours adjusts the acid environment in the stomach to the optimum range for treatment (pH 3 - 5). The long-lasting effect is due to the layered lattice structure of Talcid.

Areas of application

For the symptomatic treatment of conditions in adults and adolescents in which stomach acid is to be bound (e.g. heartburn and other stomach complaints caused by stomach acid or stomach and small intestine ulcers after consultation with the attending physician.

How to use

For heartburn and other stomach complaints caused by stomach acid: 1-2 chewable tablets as required.
Stomach and small intestine ulcers: 2 chewable tablets 3-4 times a day 1-2 hours after a meal and before going to bed.

Treatment should be continued for at least 4 weeks after the symptoms have subsided. A daily dose totalling 12 chewable tablets must not be exceeded.
