The food supplement Symbiofem® Intim contains selected lactic acid bacteria of the strains Lactobacillus rhamnosus GR-1® and Lactobacillus reuteri RC-14®, D-mannose and biotin*.
Symbiofem® Intim is a dietary supplement combining two selected strains of lactic acid bacteria Lactobacillus rhamnosus (GR-1®) and Lactobacillus reuteri (RC-14®)¹ with D-mannose and biotin*, which contributes to the maintenance of normal mucous membranes (including vaginal and bladder mucous membranes).
Biotin, also known as vitamin B7, is an essential water-soluble vitamin and plays an important role in the metabolism of body cells. Very active tissues such as the body's mucous membranes require biotin.
Symbiofem® Intim - Clever support for the urinary tract and vaginal flora
Urinary tract infections
Urinary tract infections are among the most common types of infection. Constantly recurring bladder infections and vaginal diseases, such as infections of the vaginal mucosa, can have a severe impact on everyday life for those affected. A change in the vaginal microbiome, for example due to an imbalance of good and bad bacteria, often leads to diseases of the urogenital tract.
Typical symptoms of urinary tract infections include
- unpleasant burning sensation when urinating
- frequent urge to urinate
- cloudy and strong-smelling urine
The combination of the world's best-studied lactic acid bacteria strains for women's urogenital health:
- Lactobacillus rhamnosus GR-1®
- Lactobacillus reuteri RC-14®
with D-mannose and biotin, which can help prevent recurrent bladder infections as well as provide support in acute cases.
D-mannose plays a special role in the prevention of bladder infections and occurs naturally in the human metabolism.
- Even at the first signs of bladder inflammation, D-mannose can provide support by binding the hairs of inflammation-causing E. coli bacteria and thus preventing the pathogens from adhering to the bladder mucosa.
* Biotin contributes to the maintenance of normal mucous membranes (this includes vaginal and bladder mucous membranes). Biotin contributes to normal energy metabolism. Biotin contributes to the normal metabolism of macronutrients.
