This food supplement with the medicinal mushroom chaga and the vitamins niacin and vitamin C is a valuable addition to your diet. Niacin contributes to the maintenance of normal skin and mucous membranes, including the stomach and intestinal mucosa. Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for normal skin function and to the normal function of the immune system. Supplement your diet with this high-quality product and support your well-being and vitality.
The Chaga extract capsules contain a high-quality extract from the medicinal mushroom Chaga as well as niacin (vitamin B3) and vitamin C.
Vitality mushrooms contain a large number of active biological substances and are regarded as a multi-substance mixture. The polysaccharides, beta-glucans, triterpenes, polyphenols and bioactive proteins are the most complex and valuable ingredients.
Compared to mushroom powder, mushroom extract contains a higher quantity of beta-glucans and polysaccharides, among other things. For Chaga from SEEWALD we use a special high-quality mushroom extract standardised to 30 % polysaccharides, 10 % beta-glucans and 2 % triterpenes.
Areas of application
- Niacin as a contribution to the skin and mucous membranes, such as the gastric and intestinal mucosa
- Vitamin C as a contribution to the normal function of the immune system
Chaga (Inonotus obliquus, schistosome mushroom) is mainly native to the mountain forests of subarctic regions of Russia, Scandinavia, Central and Eastern Europe as well as Central Asia, Japan and Korea and grows on deciduous trees, especially birch trees. The famous medieval ruler and Kiev Grand Duke Vladimir II Vsevolodovich (1053 - 1125), known as Monomakh (lone warrior), is said to have already used chaga. In the 15th century, chaga was mentioned as a traditional tea drink in Russia and has been part of Russian folk medicine ever since. The leaning chaga mushroom contains more than 200 active biological substances, including various polyphenols and special triterpenes as well as various polysaccharides and beta-glucans. Details include melanin and sterols, such as ergo- and lanosterol, and betulin, a soluble lignin from the birch, its host tree. Melanin is found in the outer, black layer of the mushroom. Chaga has a main and secondary fruiting form. The main fruiting form initially grows invisibly under the bark of the tree and forms a sloping layer of pores, which also gives its name to the "Schiefer Schillerporling". The secondary fruiting form forms a few years before the main fruiting form and aims to kill the host tree. It is what is commonly referred to as Chaga. In TCM, chaga is used as a strengthening tonic that is also said to harmonise the mind.
Niacin (vitamin B3) is a water-soluble vitamin from the B complex, which can be absorbed directly from food or formed from the amino acid tryptophan. As a component of coenzymes, niacin is involved in many metabolic functions. Among other things, niacin contributes to the maintenance of skin and mucous membranes, such as the stomach and intestinal mucosa. In the form of nicotinamide, niacin is considered to be better tolerated.
Vitamin C (calcium L-ascorbate / threonate (Ester-C®)) is primarily known for its contribution to the normal function of the immune system and normal energy metabolism. Calcium-L-ascorbate (Ester-C®) is pH-neutral, maintains a constant vitamin C level over 24 hours and is characterised by rapid absorption and high bioavailability.
