Originally from East Asia, the shiitake mushroom (Lentinula edodes or Pasania mushroom) is a traditional food that has been valued in Chinese and Japanese cuisine for over 2,000 years. Also known as the "king of mushrooms", this medicinal mushroom likes to grow on dead wood, such as oak trunks, and is known for its intense flavour.

Vital mushrooms are rich in various active biological compounds and are regarded as a complex multi-substance mixture of valuable ingredients. The high-quality shiitake extract is available in certified organic quality - it fulfils the highest standards of purity and sustainability. The organic shiitake extract is standardised to polysaccharides (30%) and beta-glucans (20%) and is also rich in lentinan and the alkaloid eritadenine.

The formula is enriched with natural vitamin C from the organic amla berry. Vitamin C contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress and supports the normal function of the immune system.

The vitamin C comes from organically grown amla berries. Amla, also known as Indian gooseberry (Phyllanthus emblica), is one of the richest natural sources of vitamin C with a high natural content of vitamin C, polyphenols, flavonoids and antioxidants. The BIO Amla extract is standardised to 50% vitamin C and, according to current research, is particularly characterised by its sustained bioavailability and good tolerability - it is a suitable source of vitamin C for people with a sensitive stomach or histamine sensitivity.
