Cordyceps (Ophiocordyceps sinensis), known as the caterpillar fungus, was already highly prized as far back as the 15th century and was therefore particularly expensive. Tibetan yak herders observed that their livestock displayed exceptional performance and resilience after consuming this fungus.

Cordyceps is native to the Tibetan highlands at altitudes of 3,000 to 5,000 metres – but today it can also be cultivated. As a parasite, the fungus infects the larvae of root borers (Hepialus spp.) and occasionally uses ants to disperse its spores.

In traditional Chinese nutrition, Cordyceps is valued because it is considered to support Qi and Yang and is said to contain substances with adaptogenic properties.

This exclusive formula uses only mushroom extract of certified organic quality. This mushroom extract offers a standardised concentration of valuable vital substances: 30% polysaccharides and 20% beta-glucans.

The Cordyceps is perfectly complemented by vitamin C. It proves to be a useful aid in reducing tiredness and fatigue, as well as supporting normal energy metabolism – for greater well-being and noticeable vitality. Furthermore, vitamin C supports the normal function of the nervous and immune systems and helps protect cells from oxidative stress.

The vitamin C is derived from organically grown amla berries. Amla, also known as Indian gooseberry (Phyllanthus emblica), is one of the richest natural sources of vitamin C, with a high natural content of vitamin C, polyphenols, flavonoids and antioxidants. Our organic amla extract is standardised to 50% vitamin C and, according to current research, is characterised in particular by its sustained bioavailability and good tolerability – it is a suitable source of vitamin C for people with a sensitive stomach or histamine sensitivity.
