SABE belle REFLUXcontrol Sticks are a medical device for oral use in the treatment of gastro-oesophageal reflux, heartburn, oesophagitis, dry cough and belching caused by gastric reflux. For adults and children over 12 years of age.

REFLUXcontrol STICK forms a protective film and exerts three synergistic effects: it inhibits acid regurgitation, protects the lining of the oesophagus and reduces heartburn. Sodium alginate and carbonates form a physical barrier. Sodium alginate forms a gel on contact with stomach acid, whilst carbonates release carbon dioxide bubbles. This creates a physical barrier that prevents gastric juices from risinginto the oesophagus. In addition, bicarbonate neutralises the stomach acid.

Active ingredients

Sodium alginate

This raw material is derived from the sodium salt of alginic acid and is extracted from the cell walls of algae. On contact with stomach acid , sodium alginate forms a floating polysaccharide gel (alginate gel) which remainsnear the entrance to the stomach , thereby forming a physical barrier.

Carbonates

The product contains potassium carbonate, calcium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate. Upon contact with stomach acid, the bicarbonate is converted into carbon dioxide, the bubbles of which are trapped within the alginate gel. The resulting foam acts as a protective barrier, preventing the contents of the stomach from risinginto the oesophagus . In addition, the carbonates neutralise the stomach acid.

HMW mucopolysaccharides

This is a mixture consisting of polysaccharides from the prickly pear (extracted from the inner part of the cladodes) and polyphenols derived from olive leaves . The prickly pear polysaccharides have the ability to adhere to mucous membranes. The polyphenols derived from olive leaves soothe the stomach lining, which islikely due to the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects of certain compounds, such as oleuropein.

Solanum tuberosum extract

Potato extract serves to neutralise stomach acid.

Indications

Adults and children aged 12 and over with the following symptoms:

gastro-oesophageal reflux
heartburn
oesophagitis
Acid reflux
Belching
Stomach pain, accompanied by a burning sensation and/or pain
indigestion and nausea caused by reflux
Dry cough
During pregnancy/breastfeeding, following prior consultation with a doctor

Directions for use

Take one 15 ml sachet after main meals and before going to bed , or as directed by your doctor . Shake wellbefore use .

Notes

This product contains sodium and requires particular caution when administering alginates to patients with high blood pressure, heart failure or kidney failure. This product may impair the absorption of oral medicines. If you are taking other medicines long-term or following a particularly low-salt (low-sodium) diet, you should consult your doctor before use.
