- Reloxan®can be taken several times a day: Reloxan® chewable tablets can be taken daily, up to four chewable tablets per day, due to the good tolerability of the ingredients. You can also use Reloxan® over a longer period of up to 30 days*, but for no longer than 14 days without interruption.
Dosage form
How to use
- Unless otherwise recommended, adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over should take 1 chewable tablet as a single dose as required. If necessary, 1 chewable tablet can be taken up to 4 times a day.
- Reloxan® chewable tablets are preferably taken one hour after meals, if necessary before bedtime or in between meals. The chewable tablets can be sucked or chewed. Reloxan® Chewable Tablets may interact with orally administered medicines, so take Reloxan® Chewable Tablets 12 hours apart from these medicines and inform your doctor.
- Advice*: Do not take for longer than 30 days. A doctor should be consulted if symptoms persist for longer. Please consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Note for diabetics: 1 chewable tablet contains up to 0.56 g sorbitol. May have a laxative effect if consumed in excess. Prolonged use of high doses could lead to a potentially serious condition known as milk-alkali syndrome (Burnett's syndrome). This disease is associated with high blood calcium levels (e.g. hypercalcaemia), reduced kidney function and, in individual cases, pancreatitis and can manifest itself in the form of frequent urination, headaches, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting, unusual tiredness or weakness. It is therefore recommended not to use Reloxan® Chewable Tablets for more than 14 days without interruption and not to take more than 4 tablets per day. Too high an intake of calcium should be avoided, especially with a calcium-rich diet (e.g. milk, cream, cheese, yoghurt, food supplements with calcium). If you are taking a thiazide diuretic (a medication for high blood pressure or cardiac insufficiency), please consult your doctor before use. The menthol contained in peppermint oil can cause hypersensitivity reactions (including shortness of breath) in sensitised persons.
- Warnings: In case of hypersensitivity or allergy to peppermint oil or any of the other ingredients. In the presence of hereditary fructose intolerance. In children and adolescents under 12 years of age. In case of kidney problems (e.g. kidney stones, kidney dysfunction). If calcium concentrations in the blood or urine are too high. If the phosphate level in the blood is too low.
