PADMA Hepaten Herbal Capsules are a dietary supplement for a healthy liver and to support detoxification and cleansing. Contains myrobalan fruit, amla fruit, choline and Terminalia bellirica fruit.
PADMA HEPATEN is a dietary supplement based on a formula from Tibetan constitutional medicine, designed to support a healthy liver and aid internal cleansing.* The herbal and bitter compounds contained in PADMA HEPATEN herbal capsules support the liver in its vital functions of internal cleansing and the elimination of metabolic waste products. In combination with choline, they therefore help to maintain normal liver function.
The liver: our body’s detoxification centre
The liver is the central organ of the entire metabolic system and, weighing around 1.5 kg, is the largest organ in our body. It is our central detoxification centre. In the liver, waste products from the body’s metabolism are processed so that they can later be excreted. Initial exposure to toxins or pathogens stimulates the growth of new, healthy liver cells. However, constant strain – for example, due to excessive consumption of alcohol, fatty foods, too much sugar or certain medicines, as well as excessive mental and physical stress – can weaken the liver and, in the long term, impair its detoxification function. Early signs such as tiredness, fatigue and difficulty concentrating are not usually attributed to the liver because, due to a lack of nerve fibres, it does not normally signal any problems itself at first. Insomnia at ‘liver time’ – 2.00 am – can be an indication of a weakened liver.
Choline supports the liver’s natural functions, such as its detoxification function. Choline is obtained from food (e.g. meat, eggs, fish, nuts or soya products) and is a crucial component of the liver’s metabolism. To ensure the most balanced supply of choline possible, the amount in this Tibetan formula has been carefully calibrated so that, together with your daily diet, the recommended daily intake is achieved.
The liver from the perspective of Tibetan constitutional theory
- The five elements – air, fire, water, earth and space – form the foundation of Tibetan constitutional theory. These elements manifest themselves in the human body through the three dynamic principles: Lung, Tripa and Beken. Lung represents the element of wind and the moving principle. Tripa embodies the element of fire and is the warming principle. Beken consists of the elements water and earth and reflects the stabilising and cooling aspect within the organism.
From the perspective of Tibetan constitutional theory, the liver system is one of the body’s most crucial circulatory systems. The liver is also referred to here as the body’s own fountain of youth. According to Tibetan teachings, liver energy responds to constant strain caused by an unhealthy lifestyle with a Tripa imbalance. This throws the liver energy out of balance, causing ‘liver heat’ (chintri) to rise. The resulting excess liver heat can spread throughout the body and promote inflammation.
The ‘3-Fruit Formula’ Bras bu 3 is a balancing formula with a specific effect on the liver. A healthy liver not only helps to eliminate waste products, but is also vital for metabolism, hormonal balance and optimal digestion. According to Tibetan constitutional theory, eye health also depends on the liver. A course of treatment is particularly beneficial in cases of stress caused by, for example, environmental toxins, pollutants or alcohol. A cleansing course can provide an energy boost from within.
Factors that can put strain on the liver include:
- Oxidative stress (free radicals attack liver cells)
- Heavy metals (e.g. from dental fillings)
- Recreational toxins (e.g. alcohol, nicotine, substances released when coffee is roasted, barbecued food, etc.)
- Allergens (e.g. from food or the air)
- Substances from local sites of inflammation or bacterial infection
- Medication • End products of natural metabolism (accumulation in cases of insufficient liver or kidney function)
- Artificial food additives, preservatives in food and cosmetics
- Indoor environment (mould, solvents from flooring, furniture, paints)
