Neo Emedyl Dragees are a non-prescription medicine containing the active ingredient dimenhydrinate, a proven remedy for dizziness, nausea and vomiting. For the treatment of travel sickness in adults and adolescents aged 12 and over.
It acts directly on the balance centre and vomiting centre in the brain and is therefore suitable for preventing and treating the symptoms of travel sickness (dizziness, nausea and vomiting caused by sea, air, rail, bus and car travel).
Caffeine counteracts the sedative effect of dimenhydrinate. It has a stimulating effect on the cerebral cortex, the respiratory and circulatory centre and promotes cardiac performance. 1 coated tablet contains about as much caffeine as ½ cup of filter coffee or 1 cup of black tea. Caffeine reduces tiredness.
The benefits of Neo Emedyl coated tablets at a glance:
- Calms the gastrointestinal tract
- Acts where the nausea arises
- Ideal for the first-aid kit
- Suitable from the age of 12
Dosage form
coated tablets
Directions for use
- Adults and adolescents aged 12 and over: take 1 tablet 30 minutes before travelling, then 1 tablet every 4-6 hours.
- Use in children: Neo Emedyl Coated Tablets are not suitable for children under 12 years of age.
- Advice: The simultaneous consumption of alcohol is strongly discouraged. Both dimenhydrinate and caffeine can trigger habituation effects. The maximum daily dose of 6 dragees must not be exceeded. Neo Emedyl coated tablets should be taken with sufficient non-alcoholic liquid (e.g. 1 glass of water). The duration of treatment should be as short as possible. In the case of prolonged use, the treatment must be reviewed by a doctor. In elderly or weakened patients and patients with severe liver damage, the dose should be reduced and should therefore be carefully adjusted to the clinical picture by the doctor before taking it. In the case of kidney damage, the interval between taking the coated tablets should be extended to 6-12 hours (moderate damage) or 12-18 hours (severe kidney damage), depending on the degree of damage.
