Usage
- Adults aged 18 and over: Depending on the size of the affected area and the severity of the symptoms, apply a strip of ointment approximately 6 cm long 3 to 4 times daily, or a strip approximately 12 cm long 3 times daily, to the affected area and massage in thoroughly, so that a thin film of ointment forms on the skin. If necessary, the affected joint may be supported with a dressing after applying the ointment. Airtight, occlusive dressings should be avoided.
- Children and adolescents aged 8 to 17 years: Depending on the size of the area to be treated and the severity of the symptoms, apply a quantity of ointment (a 4–6 cm-long strip*) corresponding to the size of the painful area to the affected area 2 to 3 times a day and massage in thoroughly, so that a thin film of ointment forms on the skin. *1 cm of ointment corresponds to approx. 0.33 g of ointment (based on published data). The actual weight may vary depending on the thickness of the strip of ointment.
- Use in children and adolescents: Kytta Pain Ointment must not be used in children under 8 years of age due to its pyrrolizidine alkaloid content. In children and adolescents aged 8 to 17 years, the duration of use is limited to 7 days.
- Method of administration: For application to the skin.
- Duration of use: If you do not feel any better, or if your condition worsens, after 3–4 days, consult your doctor. This medicine should not be used for longer than 10 days. For children and adolescents aged 8 to 17 years, the duration of use is limited to 7 days.
