Ibumetin® forte 400 mg film-coated tablets, 20 ST

Ibumetin® forte 400 mg film-coated tablets is a medicine containing the active substance ibuprofen for the relief of mild to moderate pain (e.g. headache, toothache and menstrual pain) and fever caused by a cold.

Ibumetin® with the mono active ingredient ibuprofen is used to relieve mild to moderately severe (acute) pain. It has an analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effect. This triple effect makes Ibumetin® a versatile painkiller; it is the all-rounder among painkillers and therefore ideal for the medicine cabinet at home and when travelling.

Ibuprofen belongs to a group of medicines known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (non-steroidal analgesics/anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)). These medicines have analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effects.

Ibumetin is used

• to relieve mild to moderately severe pain (such as headaches, toothache and menstrual pain);
• to relieve pain and fever in colds.

Film-coated tablets

Intended use

Adults and adolescents (from the age of 12) ≥ 40kg (adolescents from the age of 12 and adults):

• Single dose: 1 tablet (corresponding to 400 mg ibuprofen)
• Maximum daily dose: 3 tablets (corresponding to 1200 mg ibuprofen)

Children (from 6 years of age): Ibuprofen may only be given to children under 12 years of age with a doctor's prescription. Ibumetin must not be used in children under 6 years of age. The tablet can be divided into equal doses.

20- 29 kg (children: 6 -9 years):

• Single dose: ½ (corresponding to 200 mg ibuprofen)
• Maximum daily dose: 1½ (corresponding to 600 mg ibuprofen)

30- 39 kg (children: 10-12 years):

• Single dose: ½ (corresponding to 200 mg ibuprofen)
• Maximum daily dose: 2 (corresponding to 800 mg ibuprofen)

Method of administration: Oral use. Please take Ibumetin whole with plenty of liquid (e.g. a glass of water) during or after a meal. There should be at least 6 hours between two doses.

Duration of use: The lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest duration necessary to relieve the symptoms. If you have an infection, consult a doctor immediately if symptoms (e.g. fever and pain) persist or worsen (see section 2). Consult your doctor if you need to take ibupetine for more than 3 days to treat fever and more than 4 days to treat pain, or if the symptoms worsen. If children and adolescents need to take this medicine for more than 3 days or if symptoms worsen, seek medical advice. Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you feel that the effect of this medicine is stronger or weaker than you expected.

Ingredients

• The other ingredients are Tablet core: microcrystalline cellulose, lactose, croscarmellose sodium, sodium lauryl sulphate, magnesium stearate, highly dispersed silicon dioxide Tablet coating: hypromellose, talc, titanium dioxide E171.
