Gaviscon Mint chewable tablets form a protective barrier that floats on the stomach contents. This protective barrier prevents stomach acid from rising from the stomach into the oesophagus, thus relieving the burning sensation of heartburn and the feeling of discomfort in the throat and mouth. Heartburn can occur after meals (e.g. after eating fatty or spicy foods) or during pregnancy or in patients with symptoms associated with oesophagitis (e.g. difficulty swallowing and/or painful swallowing, mouth ulcers, vomiting).
Gaviscon Mint Chewable Tablets are used to treat complaints of gastro-oesophageal reflux such as heartburn, acid regurgitation and indigestion (due to reflux), e.g. after meals or during pregnancy or in patients with complaints associated with oesophagitis.

Directions for use
- Adults and children aged 12 and over: 10 - 20ml or 2 - 4 tablets after a meal and before going to bed (up to 4 times a day).
- The instructions for use, doctor or pharmacist will inform you about the effects and possible undesirable effects.
- Available as Gaviscon Liquid Mint Oral Suspension, Gaviscon Mint Chewable Tablets and Gaviscon Strawberry Chewable Tablets.
Ingredients
- The active ingredients in each chewable tablet are 250 mg sodium alginate, 133.5 mg sodium hydrogen carbonate and 80 mg calcium carbonate.
- The other ingredients are peppermint flavouring, macrogol 20,000, mannitol (E 421), copovidone, aspartame (E 951), acesulfame potassium (E 950), magnesium stearate.
