Dr Kottas St John's wort tea, 20 ST

Dr Kottas St John's Wort Tea is a medicinal tea with the active ingredient St John's Wort. Dr Kottas St John's Wort Tea is a traditional herbal medicinal product for the relief of temporary mental exhaustion.

The use of this traditional herbal medicinal product in the stated area of application is based exclusively on many years of use.

St John's Wort (Herba Hyperici)

• St John's wort is a 25 - 90 cm tall perennial herb with persistent runners. Its name refers to the fact that the plant flowers around St John's Day (24 June). When the yellow flowers are crushed, a red oil is secreted. It is characterised by its elongated oval leaves, which appear perforated.
• Effect: The mood-enhancing effect of St John's wort has proven to be very effective in psychovegetative disorders, depressive moods, anxiety and/or nervous restlessness.

Directions

• Adults and adolescents aged 12 and over: 1 cup of tea 3 times a day
• Pour boiling water over 1 filter bag per cup (125 ml), cover and leave to infuse for 10 minutes. Then squeeze out the filter bag well and drink the tea lukewarm in sips. The tea can be sweetened to taste.
• Do not take for longer than 6 weeks without interruption. If the symptoms worsen during use or if there is no improvement after 6 weeks, a doctor must be consulted.
• Use in children under 12 years of age is not recommended as there is insufficient data available.

Notes:

Dr Kottas St John's wort tea must not be taken,

• if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to St John's wort.
• if you suffer from hypersensitivity of the skin to light or if you are undergoing concurrent therapies that lead to hypersensitivity of the skin

if you are simultaneously taking

• Ciclosporin, Tacrolimus (preparations that are taken after organ transplants)
• Indinavir and other drugs used in anti-HIV treatment
• Irinotecan and other cytostatics (drugs used to treat cancer)
• Warfarin or phenprocoumon (blood thinning agents).

Special care is required when taking Dr Kottas St John's wort tea:

• In fair-skinned people, skin reactions, such as reddening of the skin similar to sunburn, may occur after taking St John's wort preparations and subsequent exposure to sunlight.
• People who are sensitive to light should therefore avoid intensive UV radiation (long sunbathing, high altitude sun, solariums) during the period of use.

When taking Dr Kottas St John's wort tea with other medicines:

• Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using or have recently taken/used other medicines, even if they are non-prescription medicines.
• St John's wort can reduce the levels of other medicines in the blood and thus reduce their effects.
• For this reason, St John's wort must not be taken at the same time as certain drugs used for organ transplants or autoimmune diseases (ciclosporin, tacrolimus for systemic use, sirolimus), drugs used for HIV infections (amprenavir, indinavir and other protease inhibitors, nevirapine) or drugs used to treat cancer (irinotecan, imatinib).
• Particular caution is required with the simultaneous use of all medicines whose breakdown can be accelerated by St John's wort (e.g. medicines with the active ingredients
• Phenprocoumon, warfarin, amitryptiline, fexofenadine, methadone, simvastatin, digoxin, ivabradine, verapamil, finasteride or some medicines from the active substance class of benzodiazepines). It is possible that these medicines may not be fully effective. If you are unsure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
• This can also lead to increased intermenstrual bleeding with oral contraceptives and the safety of the pill as a contraceptive may be reduced. Additional contraceptive measures should therefore be used by women taking oral contraceptives.
• Before a planned surgical procedure, your doctor should determine possible interactions with drugs used during general anaesthesia or local anaesthesia. If necessary, Dr Kottas St John's wort tea should be discontinued.
• St John's wort can increase the concentration of some medicines used for depression (active ingredients e.g. sertraline, paroxetine, nefazodone), of medicines used for anxiety (active ingredient buspirone) or of some migraine medicines (active ingredients triptans) in the central nervous system and thus increase their effects. If these medicines are taken at the same time, symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, anxiety, restlessness or confusion may occur more frequently in individual cases.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using any medicinal product. As there is insufficient data available, it is not recommended to take Dr.Dr.Dr. during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

If you have taken a larger amount of Dr Kottas St John's Wort Tea than you should:

• After taking up to 4.5 g of St. John's wort dry extract per day (equivalent to about 13 filter bags of Dr. Kottas St. John's wort tea) for 2 weeks and more than that 15 g of St. John's wort dry extract (equivalent to about 44 filter bags of Dr. Kottas St. John's wort tea), seizures and convulsions were reported before hospitalisation.
• Due to a possible increase in photosensitivity, the patient should be protected from sunlight and other UV light for 2 weeks after taking massive overdoses.
