Desitin - Ointment, 50 G

Desitin ointment with the active ingredients cod liver oil and zinc oxide is a long-established remedy to support wound healing. Cod liver oil is rich in vitamin A and unsaturated fatty acids. Vitamin A plays a particularly important role in protecting the epithelia of the skin and mucous membrane tissue. Supplying the skin with vitamin A helps to maintain the functionality of this tissue, increases its resistance and thus prevents inflammation. If the skin is already damaged, the regeneration of the corresponding skin areas is accelerated by the vitamin-rich cod liver oil. The anti-inflammatory effect is an important property of zinc oxide. Zinc oxide also has a good drying effect and is therefore particularly suitable for weeping areas of skin.

Desitin ointment is used to support wound healing in superficial inflammatory skin conditions such as weeping inflammations in the area of body folds or skin irritations in the nappy area, as well as for minor burns such as mild sunburn.

How to use

• For application to the skin.
• Apply Desitin ointment several times a day with the back of a knife directly onto the affected areas of skin or onto clean dressing material and apply to the wound area to be treated. The edges of the wound should be covered to the width of a finger. Any ointment residue around the wound can be removed with surgical spirit or pure vegetable oil.

Ingredients

The active ingredients are: Cod liver oil and zinc oxide. 100 g ointment contains: 13 g cod liver oil, 30 g zinc oxide. The other ingredients are: Vaseline white, Paraffinum solidum, Eucerinum anhydricum, wool wax (lanolin), talcum, methyl salicylate and purified water.
