Diosmin Genericon® 1000 mg film-coated tablets are a non-prescription medicine containing the active substance: diosmin. It relieves the symptoms of chronic venous disorders of the legs and treats acute haemorrhoidal complaints symptomatically.

How does Diosmin Genericon work?

Diosmin, the active ingredient in Diosmin Genericon, stabilises the capillaries. The active ingredient in Diosmin Genericon influences the function of the veins and protects them; the venous tone and the resistance of the capillaries are increased. The active ingredient in Diosmin Genericon reduces the appearance of swelling and also has an anti-inflammatory effect on the blood vessels.

This medicine is taken by adults for the following indications:

It is recommended for the relief of symptoms such as tension, heaviness in the legs, pain and nocturnal calf cramps in chronic venous disorders of the legs (venous insufficiency).
It is suitable for the symptomatic treatment of haemorrhoids when the symptoms of haemorrhoids worsen.

Diosmin Genericon® is a proven medicine for the treatment of venous disorders and haemorrhoids. The active ingredient diosmin specifically supports the function of the veins and reduces the occurrence of swelling and also has an anti-inflammatory effect on the blood vessels. The medicine is particularly suitable for relieving typical symptoms such as

Heavy legs
Pain and nocturnal calf cramps due to chronic venous disorders
haemorrhoids

Directions for use

The recommended dose for adults is

For chronic venous disorders of the legs: 1 film-coated tablet once a day. The film-coated tablet is taken in the morning with a meal. If the symptoms of your condition do not improve or even worsen after 6 weeks of treatment, consult your doctor. You can also use Diosmin Genericon for longer if your doctor sees no need for another specific treatment for you.
If the haemorrhoidal symptoms worsen: 1 film-coated tablet 3 times a day (one film-coated tablet in the morning, one in the afternoon and one in the evening) for 4 days, then 1 film-coated tablet twice a day (one film-coated tablet in the morning and one in the evening) for a further 3 days. The film-coated tablets are taken with a meal. If the symptoms do not improve or even worsen after 7 days of treatment, consult your doctor. Self-treatment with Diosmin Genericon is possible for up to 7 days. If the symptoms do not disappear during this period, consult your doctor.
When treating a chronic venous condition, it is recommended to adjust your lifestyle accordingly in order to achieve the best effect. Avoid sunbathing, prolonged standing or being overweight. Walks and suitable compression stockings can improve circulation.
Use in children and adolescents: The use of Diosmin Genericon 1000 mg film-coated tablets in children and adolescents under 18 years of age is not recommended as there is insufficient data available.

Ingredients

What Diosmin Genericon contains - The active substance is: 1000 mg micronised diosmin in each film-coated tablet.
The other ingredients are: Polyvinyl alcohol, croscarmellose sodium, talc, anhydrous highly dispersed silica, magnesium stearate; Opadry II 85F82874 yellow (polyvinyl alcohol, titanium dioxide [E171], macrogol, talc, yellow iron oxide [E172]).
