COLDAN nasal spray, 10 ML

The active ingredient in Coldan, naphazoline, a vasoconstrictor substance, has a decongestant effect on the nasal mucosa and inhibits the production of nasal secretions. The effect starts a few minutes after application and lasts for around 4 hours.

Coldan is used for the local treatment of rhinitis, hay fever, pharyngitis, for the supportive treatment of inflammation of the frontal and maxillary sinuses, to facilitate rhinoscopy (examination of the inside of the nose).

Directions for use

• Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over: 2 - maximum 4 times daily 1 spray into each nostril.
• Children from 6 to 12 years of age: 1 spray into each nostril 1 - maximum 3 times a day.
• The use of COLDAN nasal spray is not recommended for children aged 2 to 6 years.

If use is necessary, COLDAN Nasal Spray should only be given to children aged 2 to 6 years on a doctor's prescription. COLDAN Nasal Spray should not be used in children under 2 years of age.

Method of application

For nasal application , for spraying into the nose.

• Clean nose thoroughly before use (blow nose).
• Remove the protective cap. Before using for the first time, press and hold the spray pump until the first spray is emitted. The dosing sprayer is then immediately ready for use with each pumping stroke.
• Hold your head upright, insert the spray head into each nostril and activate the spray pump.
• Optimum distribution of the spray mist is achieved by gently inhaling through the nose after spraying.
• Only release the pressure from the spray attachment after removing the spray head from the nose.
• For reasons of hygiene and to prevent the transmission of pathogens, a spray bottle should only ever be used by one and the same person.

Duration of use

There should be an interval of at least 4 hours between individual applications. Treatment with COLDAN nasal spray should not be continued for longer than 7 days in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over, and for no longer than 5 days in children aged 6 - 12 years. If the symptoms worsen or persist for more than 72 hours without noticeable improvement, please consult a doctor. Take a break of at least 10 days before starting a new course of treatment.

COLDAN nasal spray must not be used for continuous treatment. Prolonged uninterrupted use may lead to symptoms of habituation.

Suitable for use in children and adolescents from 6 years of age and adults. If use is necessary, Coldan nasal spray may only be given to children from 2 to 6 years of age on a doctor's prescription.

Ingredients

The active substance is: Naphazoline hydrochloride. 1 ml solution contains 1 mg naphazoline hydrochloride. The other ingredients are Benzalkonium chloride, sodium chloride, sodium dihydrogen phosphate, sodium monohydrogen phosphate, sodium edetate, purified water.
