Tasectan 250 mg powder for use in children, 20 ST

Tasectan® 250 mg powder is a medical product that restores the physiological function of the intestinal wall. It has been specially developed to combat and reduce the symptoms of various types of diarrhoea, such as abdominal discomfort and frequent bowel movements, and is effective within 12 hours.

The gelatin tannate that makes up the medicine is not altered in the stomach and works by forming a layer that protects the intestinal mucosa, reducing the frequency and duration of diarrhoea.

When do you use Tasectan and what does Tasectan do?

• Tasectan (ingredient: gelatin tannate) is a mucoprotector and is now an established and popular diarrhoea remedy that is available in every Austrian pharmacy. Tasectan protects the intestinal mucosa with a protective film and restores its normal function.
• As a result, Tasectan stops and relieves diarrhoea and the associated symptoms, such as abdominal pain and frequent defecation, usually within 12 hours.

There are many causes of diarrhoea, ranging from infectious diseases and food intolerances to functional disorders. The most common triggers are bacteria and viruses. An intact intestinal barrier is crucial for all diarrhoeal diseases. It is organised as a multi-layered system and serves as a complex defence system.¹ In diarrhoea, however, the intestinal barrier loses its important natural protective function.²

Directions for use

• Children under 3 years: 1 sachet every 6 hours until symptoms subside.
• Children between 3 and 14 years: 1 or 2 sachets every 6 hours until symptoms subside.
• Dissolve the contents of the sachet in liquid. Stir well and administer immediately.

Ingredients

Composition per sachet: 250mg gelatin tannate (of procine origin). Tasectan contains gelatin tannate, which protects the intestinal mucosa and provides rapid symptom control.
