Tasectan® 250 mg powder is a medical device that restores the physiological function of the intestinal wall. It has been specially developed to combat and alleviate the symptoms of various types of diarrhoea, such as abdominal pressure and frequent bowel movements. It takes effect within 12 hours.
The gelatine tannate, which forms the basis of this medical device, remains unchanged in the stomach and works by forming a layer that protects the intestinal mucosa, thereby reducing the frequency and duration of diarrhoea.
When should you use Tasectan and what does Tasectan do?
- Tasectan (active ingredient: gelatin tannate) is a mucoprotective agent and is now a well-established and popular treatment for diarrhoea, available in every Austrian pharmacy. Tasectan protects the intestinal mucosa by forming a protective film and restores its normal function.
- As a result, Tasectan usually stops and relieves diarrhoea and its associated symptoms, such as abdominal pain and frequent bowel movements, within 12 hours.
Properties
- Quickly stops acute diarrhoea
- Protects the intestinal mucosa with a protective film
- Neutralises diarrhoea-causing pathogens
- Eliminates diarrhoea-causing pathogens as part of the cell renewal process
- Also suitable for children under 3 years of age
For all cases of diarrhoea: Protects, neutralises, eliminates
The causes of diarrhoea are varied, ranging from infectious diseases and food intolerances to functional disorders. The most common triggers are bacteria and viruses. An intact intestinal barrier is crucial in all cases of diarrhoea. It is organised as a multi-layered system and acts as a complex defence mechanism.¹ However, in cases of diarrhoea, the intestinal barrier loses its vital natural protective function.²
