- Lotilaner, a pure enantiomer from the isoxazoline group, is effective against fleas (Ctenocephalides felis and Ctenocephalides canis) and ticks (Ixodes ricinus).
- Lotilaner is a strong inhibitor of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA)-regulated chloride channels and leads to a rapid death of ticks and fleas. In in-vitro studies, the efficacy of Lotilaner against some arthropod species was not impaired even in the presence of resistance to chlorinated hydrocarbons (cyclodienes, e.g. dieldrin), phenylpyrazoles (e.g. fipronil), neonicotinoids (e.g. imidacloprid), formamidines (e.g. amitraz) and pyrethroids (e.g. cypermethrin).
- In fleas, the effect occurs within 12 hours of attachment over a period of one month after administration. Fleas already present on the animal before administration are killed within 8 hours.
- In the case of ticks, the effect occurs within 24 hours of attachment over a period of one month after administration of the veterinary medicinal product. Ticks already present on the animal prior to administration are killed within 18 hours.
- The veterinary medicine kills existing and newly hatched fleas on the cat before they can lay eggs. This interrupts the flea reproduction cycle and prevents contamination of the environment with fleas to which the cat has access.

Directions for use
The flavoured veterinary medicinal product should be administered according to the following table to ensure a single dose of 6 to 24 mg Lotilaner/kg body weight::
- Cat body weight (kg) 0.5 to 2.0: 1 AdTab™ 12 mg chewable tablets for cats.
- Cat body weight (kg) > 2.0 to 8.0: 1 AdTab™ 48 mg chewable tablets for cats.
- Cat body weight (kg) > 8.0: Suitable combination of tablets.
- Method of administration: For oral administration. Duration of action: 1 month, monthly application is recommended. The veterinary medicinal product should be administered with food or within 30 minutes of feeding. For optimal control of tick and flea infestations, the veterinary medicinal product should be administered at monthly intervals and continued throughout the flea and/or tick season based on local epidemiological situations.
- Notes: All data on tolerability and efficacy are based on studies of cats aged 8 weeks and over and weighing 0.5 kg or more. As no data is available, a vet should be consulted before treating cats younger than 8 weeks and weighing less than 0.5 kg.

super Mittel
So einfach wie in vielen Kommentaren war die Verabreichung der Adtab für Katzen zwar nicht, aber mit Tabletteneingeber kein Problem. Sehr schnelle Lieferung und haben sich 2 meiner 4 Katzen gestern noch gekratzt, am Abend haben sie die Adtab bekommen, heute nix mehr :) Wenn unsere reine Freigängerin nun weniger Zeckenbefall hat, perfekt :)
