Aurasin acute contains zolmitriptan. It belongs to a group of medicines called triptans.

Aurasin acute is used after the initial diagnosis of a migraine by a doctor for the acute treatment of the headache phases of migraine attacks with or without aura.

Migraine symptoms can be caused by a temporary dilation of the blood vessels in the head. It is assumed that zolmitriptan reduces this dilation. This helps to reduce the headache and other symptoms of a migraine attack, such as nausea or vomiting and sensitivity to light and sound.
Zolmitriptan only works if a migraine attack has already started. It cannot prevent a migraine attack and must not be taken to prevent a migraine.

The most common symptoms of migraine attacks are severe headaches, visual disturbances, strong sensitivity to light and sound, nausea and even vomiting and speech difficulties.

These symptoms are caused by dilated blood vessels. The active ingredient zolmitriptan contained in Aurasin acute reduces this dilation and thus contributes to the disappearance of both the headache and the other migraine symptoms.

Aurasin acute is taken immediately at the onset of the pain phase in acute cases.

How to use

Only take Aurasin acute to treat an actual migraine attack and not to prevent migraine attacks or headaches. You can take Aurasin acute as soon as the migraine attack begins. Aurasin acute is also effective during the attack.

The usual dose is 1 tablet.
Take the tablet with a glass of water.
If the migraine symptoms recur within 24 hours of the first response to the medicine, you can take another tablet. However, at least 2 hours must have passed between your first and second tablet.
If your migraine attack does not subside, do not take more than one tablet for the same attack.

If these tablets do not help you sufficiently during a migraine attack, tell your doctor. Your doctor may increase the dose to 5 mg or change your treatment.

Do not take more than two doses per day. If you are using 2.5 mg tablets, the maximum daily dose is 5 mg. If you have been prescribed 5 mg tablets, the maximum daily dose is 10 mg.

Ingredients

The active substance is: zolmitriptan.
1 Aurasin acute 2.5 mg tablet contains 2.5 mg zolmitriptan.
The other ingredients are mannitol, maltodextrin, microcrystalline cellulose, crospovidone type A, sodium hydrogen carbonate, citric acid anhydrous, highly dispersed silicon dioxide anhydrous, saccharin sodium, magnesium stearate, menthol flavouring (maltodextrin, natural menthol, modified maize starch).
