ActiMaris® NASAL Spray is a hypertonic, alkaline-ionised seawater solution containing sea salt (1.2 %), oxychlorite NaOCl (0.04 per cent) and hypochlorous acid HOCl (0.004 per cent), and works on a biophysical basis. The sea salt and oxychlorite provide an anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effect.

ActiMaris® NASAL Spray has a moisturising and cleansing effect when it comes into contact with the mucous membrane. At the same time, ActiMaris® NASAL Spray supports the physiological environment on the surface of the mucous membrane thanks to its composition of minerals, salts and trace elements. Due to its hypertonicity/hyperosmolarity, the solution has a decongestant effect, dissolves crusts and nasal secretions, and clears the nasal passages. Through its cleansing action and ability to dissolve secretions, ActiMaris® NASAL Spray improves well-being and alleviates the typical symptoms associated with the aforementioned conditions. ActiMaris® NASAL Spray is gentle on cells whilst being effective and fast-acting as an antimicrobial agent. The sea salt and oxychlorite are natural preservatives and ensure the long-term stability of the ActiMaris® NASAL Spray solution.

ActiMaris® NASAL Spray contains:

no cortisone
no xylometazoline
no alcohol
no antibiotics

Indications

ActiMaris® NASAL Spray is suitable as a complementary and supportive treatment for:

Runny nose / common cold / coryza
Flu-like infections
Acute and chronic inflammation of the nasal mucosa (acute and chronic rhinitis)
Acute and chronic inflammation of the nose and sinuses (acute and chronic rhinosinusitis)
Medication-induced rhinitis (privinism) following the use of sympathomimetic nasal sprays
Allergic rhinitis (including for prophylaxis)
Eustachian tube catarrh / middle ear infections
Post-operative (following nasal and paranasal sinus surgery)
Prophylaxis against multi-drug-resistant bacteria (MRSA / VRE)
Prophylaxis of inflammation in the lower respiratory tract (reduces post-nasal drip)

Directions for use

With the head tilted slightly forwards, the spray reaches the middle and lower nasal passages, covering a larger area of the mucous membrane and thus achieving a better effect.

Adults and children aged 2 years and over:

Recommended dosage of ActiMaris® NASAL Spray: 2 sprays into each nostril 4–5 times a day.
Can be used during pregnancy and whilst breastfeeding.

Young children (under 2 years) and infants:

1–2 sprays into each nostril 2–3 times a day, as required.
When using ActiMaris® NASAL Spray, young children and infants should be laid on their side rather than on their back . Their head should be raised slightly. Always consult your paediatrician before using this product on young children and infants .

In cases of more severe endonasal infections and mucosal coatings, ActiMaris® NASAL Spray can be used in combination with ActiMaris® Wound Gel 2–3 times a day. At the recommended dosage, the 20 ml contents (100 μl per spray) are sufficient for a course of treatment lasting between 7 and 10 days (approx. 200 sprays).
