Dosage form
How to use
- ActiMaris® Forte wound irrigation solution can be used at room temperature (not above 30 °C). When rinsing wounds with an increased tendency to pain ,it is recommended to warm the required amount to room temperature in a separate container before use to increase the feeling of comfort (do not heat the rinsing solution above 30 °C).
- Before using ActiMaris® Forte Wound Irrigation Solution, the wounds should first be rinsed and cleaned with ActiMaris® Sensitive Wound Irrigation Solution to remove dirt and easily detachable coatings. Subsequent deep cleansing and odour reduction is then carried out with ActiMaris® Forte wound irrigation solution; inert dressings or wound dressings soaked with the wound irrigation solution are used for this purpose (see also section 9: Interactions). The application should preferably be carried out in the form of the classic moist/dry phase ("Moist Balance").
- The recommended duration of the moist phase for heavily fibrinous or purulent, infected or very malodorous woundsis ➔ 5-10 minutes.
- The duration and frequency of application should be adapted to the individual wound conditions. The application of the wound irrigation solution is not limited in terms of time and frequency. Whether coatings and necroses can be removed mechanically depends on the wound. In the case of thick, adherent fibrinous coatings or necrosis, surgical repair/debridement is primarily recommended. Once the wound condition has improved, the use of ActiMaris® Sensitive Wound Irrigation Solution is recommendedfor further wound cleansing until the wound is visually clean.
- ActiMaris® Sensitive Wound Irrigation Solution is recommended for patients with sensitive wounds or skin. When using the wound irrigation solution, ensure that the bottle does not touch the patient's skin or wound in order to avoid contamination or the spread of microorganisms.
