ActiMaris® OROPHARYNX Spray is a hypertonic, alkaline-ionised seawater solution with sea salt (3.0 %) and oxychlorite NaOCl (0.2 %) and works on a bio-physical basis. The sea salt and oxychlorite have an anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effect.

ActiMaris® OROPHARYNX Spray has a moisturising and cleansing effect in interactions with the mucous membrane. At the same time, ActiMaris® OROPHARYNX Spray supports the physiological environment on the surface of the mucous membrane thanks to its composition of minerals, salts and trace elements. Due to its hypertonicity/hyperosmolarity, the solution has a decongestant effect, dissolves plaque and oral/pharyngeal secretions and thus reduces the inflammatory reaction of the mucous membrane. Due to its cleansing effect and dissolution of secretions, swallowing difficulties and the feeling of illness are alleviated in the aforementioned indications. ActiMaris® OROPHARYNX Spray has a cell-protecting and antimicrobial effect that is both efficient and fast. The sea salt and oxychlorite are natural preservatives and ensure that the ActiMaris® OROPHARYNX spray solution remains stable for a long time.

Indications for use

ActiMaris® OROPHARYNX Spray can be used as a supplement and support for prophylaxis and therapy for inflammation and infections in the oral cavity, throat and larynx, such as

Inflammation of the gums (stomatitis), aphthae
After dental surgery
Glossitis / mucositis of the oral cavity
Tonsillitis / tonsillopharyngitis
Mouth and throat dryness (pharyngitis granularis sicca)
Posterior laryngitis (with reflux disease)
Acute and chronic laryngitis (laryngitis acuta et chronica)
Bad breath (halitosis)
Postoperative (after surgical procedures in the mouth/throat area)
Prophylaxis of multi-resistant germs MRSA / VRE

Dosage form

Application

Press the pump with the mouth wide open. In this way, a broad spray pattern achieves an adequate volume and moistens the mucous membrane of the oral cavity wall as well as the tongue, pharynx and larynx area. Residual liquid can be swallowed.

Adults and children from 2 years of age:

Recommended dosage of ActiMaris® OROPHARYNX Spray: 1 - 2 sprays, 4 - 5 times daily (approx. every 4 hours)
Can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Infants (under 2 years) and babies:

As required, 1 - 2 sprays, 2 - 3 times a day.
Always consult a paediatrician before use in infants and babies.

At the recommended dosage, the 50 ml content (140 μl per spray) is sufficient for a therapy of approx. 3 weeks (approx. 360 sprays ). When using ActiMaris® OROPHARYNX Spray, an overdose is not possible, nor is a systemic effect. The oropharyngeal solution breaks down into water, salt and oxygen after contact and reaction with the mucous membrane. Similarly, addiction / habituation to the oropharyngeal solution is not possible.

Alternatively or additionally, the spray solution can be inhaled using a so-called ultrasonic nebuliser (3-5 μm aerosol size) to reach deeper-seated complaints or the lower airways (approx. 2-3 times a day as required). To do this, carefully unscrew the cap and fill the solution into a suitable ultrasonic nebuliser. Please consult your doctor in advance.

Ingredients

Water, sea salt, sodium oxychlorite; clear, colourless, alkaline and hypertonic sea salt solution with a characteristic odour; contains sea salt 3.0 % (Sal Maris) and NaOCl 0.2 %.
