Ibuprofen belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). These medicines provide relief by altering the body's response to pain and fever.

ratioDolor rapid ibuprofen soft capsules are used in adults and adolescents weighing 40 kg or more (and aged 12 years and over) for the short-term symptomatic treatment of

Mild to moderately severe pain, such as headache, menstrual pain, toothache
Fever and pain associated with colds.

Consult your doctor if you do not feel better or feel worse after 3 days as a teenager or as an adult (for fever) or after 4 days as an adult (for pain).

Directions for use

Adults, children and adolescents weighing 40 kg or more (and aged 12 years and over): Take 1 softgel (400 mg ibuprofen) with water as an initial dose, then 1 softgel (400 mg ibuprofen) every six hours as required. Do not take more than 3 soft capsules (1200 mg ibuprofen) within 24 hours.
Use in children and adolescents: A doctor should be consulted if this medicine is required in children and adolescents for longer than 3 days or if symptoms worsen. Do not give ratioDolor rapid Ibuprofen to adolescents weighing less than 40 kg or children under 12 years of age.
Route of administration: Oral use. Soft capsules should not be chewed. It is recommended that patients with a sensitive stomach take ratioDolor rapid Ibuprofen with food. If taken shortly after a meal, the onset of action of ratioDolor rapid Ibuprofen may be delayed. If this is the case, do not take more ratioDolor rapid Ibuprofen than recommended in this section or until the correct time has elapsed for a new dose.
Duration of use: This medicine is intended for short-term treatment only. The lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest duration necessary to relieve symptoms. If you have an infection, consult a doctor immediately if symptoms (e.g. fever and pain) persist or worsen (package leaflet - see section 2).

Ingredients

The active ingredient is ibuprofen. Each ratioDolor rapid Ibuprofen 400 mg softgel capsule contains 400 mg ibuprofen.
The other ingredients are: capsule contents: macrogol 600 (E 1521), potassium hydroxide (E 525), purified water, allura red (E 129), capsule shell: gelatine sorbitol liquid (E 420).
