Dismenol forte Ibuprofen 400 mg film-coated tablets, 20 ST

Dismenol® FORTE ibuprofen 400 mg film-coated tablets have an analgesic effect on menstrual pain and an anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effect on headaches, back pain, toothache, muscle pain and joint pain.

Dismenol® helps before the pain arises. How does it work? The effect of ibuprofen is based on the inhibition of the body's own prostaglandin production. As already described, prostaglandins are the trigger for inflammation in the tissue and the cramp-like contraction of the uterus. In addition, prostaglandins also irritate nerve endings, which are perceived and processed as pain via transmission to the brain.

Dismenol is used for mild to moderately severe pain conditions, such as

• Headache, back pain, toothache, muscle pain, joint pain,
• Pain associated with colds and flu-like infections,
• menstrual pain.

Note: Painkillers should not be used for long periods or in high doses without medical advice.

How to use

• The film-coated tablets should be taken whole with plenty of liquid during or after a meal.
• Do not take Dismenol forte Ibuprofen 400 mg for longer than 4 days without medical advice.
• The tablet can be divided into equal doses.
• Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over and weighing at least 40 kg: Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the usual dose for adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over is ½ to 1 film-coated tablet. If necessary, a further ½ to 1 film-coated tablet can be taken; up to a maximum of 3 film-coated tablets (1200 mg ibuprofen) daily. An interval of 6 hours should be maintained between doses.

Children under 6 years of age (and children under 20 kg body weight):

• Dismenol forte Ibuprofen 400 mg is not suitable for children under 6 years of age and children under 20 kg body weight.
• Children aged 6 years and over and children over 20 kg body weight: Dismenol forte Ibuprofen 400 mg may only be given to children aged 6 to 12 years with a doctor's prescription.

Dosage recommendations for children and adolescents:

• Children from 6 to 9 years - weight approx. 20 to 29 kg: single dose: ½ film-coated tablet (contains 200 mg ibuprofen ). Total dose per day: up to 1½ film-coated tablets (contain up to 600 mg ibuprofen).
• Children from 10 to 12 years - weight approx. 30 to 39 kg: Single dose: ½ film-coated tablet (contains 200 mg ibuprofen ). Total dose per day: 1½ to 2 film-coated tablets (contain 600 to 800 mg ibuprofen).

Ingredients

• The active substance is: Ibuprofen. Each film-coated tablet contains 400 mg ibuprofen.
• The other ingredients are Tablet core: carboxymethyl starch sodium (type A), maize starch, pregelatinised starch, magnesium stearate Film coating: talc, Opadry white Y-1-7000 (hypromellose, titanium dioxide E171, macrogol 400).
