Folic acid as biologically active folate

The special thing about Pure Encapsulations® Folate 400 is that it contains Metafolin®. This is the calcium compound of the bioactive form of folic acid (5-MTHF) that already occurs naturally in the body. Metafolin® is directly available to the organism because, unlike folic acid, it no longer needs to be activated via the enzyme "MTHFR" and is therefore also effective in women who can only convert folic acid into bioactive folate to a suboptimal extent. It is difficult to get the recommended amount of folate from food. An adequate supply of folic acid is important for cell division.
