Vitaworld Magnesium 400 mg capsules are a dietary supplement with 400 mg magnesium per capsule to support a balanced magnesium balance.

Magnesium is one of the vital minerals that must be supplied to the body as it cannot produce it itself. The mineral is essential for many processes in the body, for example for energy metabolism, for vital muscle functions and within the muscles and nerves. In addition, factors such as insufficient fluid intake or heavy sweating during exercise can lead to an increased need for magnesium. If the body has too little magnesium available, the membranes become more permeable to sodium, potassium and calcium, which increases the excitability of the nerve cells and thus also the tendency to muscle cramps. Magnesium reduces this excitability by stabilising the cell membranes and thus contributing to normal muscle function.

Depending on the diet, it is not easy to supply the body with sufficient magnesium - the daily requirement for adults is around 300-400 mg, and is even higher for pregnant and breastfeeding women. If the body is supplied with too little magnesium, it falls back on the magnesium in the bones or body cells to ensure a constant magnesium level in the blood. Magnesium is therefore also essential for maintaining vital bones. A magnesium deficiency often manifests itself in frequent muscle cramps or eyelid twitching.
