Thealoz® Total eye drops regenerate, protect and soothe moderately to severely dry eyes. They provide long-lasting moisturisation and relief for red and irritated eyes.

Thealoz® Total is recommended for the treatment of dry, red, watery and itchy eyes. It is a preservative-free solution and is also suitable for contact lens wearers. A key ingredient in Thealoz® Total is trehalose, a natural substance found in many plants and animals that can survive in extremely dry conditions. It offers protective and moisturising properties. The second main ingredient is hyaluronic acid, which occurs naturally in the human eye. It binds water to moisturise and lubricate the surface of the eye. It helps the solution remain on the eye’s surface, providing long-lasting relief. In addition to trehalose and hyaluronic acid, Thealoz® Total contains NAAGA (N-acetyl-aspartyl-glutamic acid), a soothing and anti-itch ingredient designed to alleviate the symptoms of inflammation.

Thealoz® Total is available in the patented multi-dose ABAK® system as a phosphate-free, preservative-free solution that can be used for 3 months after opening. When the ABAK® bottle is squeezed, the solution flows through the antibacterial filter membrane (0.2 µm). When pressure on the bottle is released, the solution is reabsorbed and filtered to remove air and bacteria. Regardless of the pressure applied, the ABAK® bottle always dispenses the same drop size. This drop size is sufficient to fill the conjunctival sac.

Thealoz® Total with 0.15% hyaluronic acid + 3% trehalose + 2.45% NAAGA* is recommended for:

Moderate to severe symptoms of dry eyes
For moisturising and soothing itchy, reddened and/or irritated eyes
Provides long-lasting protection, moisturisation and lubrication for the ocular surface

Thealoz® Total eye drops – the 3rd generation of lubricants

In addition to hyaluronic acid (1st generation) and trehalose (2nd generation), Thealoz® Total contains the active ingredient NAAGA (N-acetyl-aspartyl-glutamic acid). NAAGA is a well-established medicinal substance with^a good^{tolerability profile¹}, has anti-inflammatory^{effects²³⁴ –} such as inhibiting the activation of the complement system – and thus breaks the vicious circle of dry eye^.¹,⁴

Thealoz® Total significantly improves conjunctival hyperaemia^.¹

Dosage form

Eye drops – multi-dose

Directions for use

1 drop in each eye 3 to 6 times a day.
Instructions for use: Wash your hands thoroughly before use. Do not use any tools to open the bottle. When using THEALOZ TOTAL for the first time, you will notice that due to the unique filter system in the bottle (see product description), it takes a little longer for the first drop to come out. Gently pull your lower eyelid downwards, look upwards and instil one drop into the conjunctival sac, then gently close your eye after use. Screw the cap back onto the bottle after use.
Notes for contact lens wearers: If you wear contact lenses, you must remove them before using THEALOZ TOTAL. After use, wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting your contact lenses.

Composition: Trehalose (3 %), sodium hyaluronate (0.15 %), N-acetyl-aspartyl-glutamic acid sodium salt (NAAGA, 2.45 %), sodium hydroxide (for pH adjustment), water for injections.
