Recessan Ointment contains polidocanol, an active ingredient for local anaesthesia. Recessan Ointment is used for the short-term, pain-relieving treatment of pressure pain caused by dentures as part of dental therapy.

How to use
- Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor, dentist or pharmacist. Ask your doctor, dentist or pharmacist if you are not sure.
- Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor or dentist, apply a pea-sized piece of Recessan Ointment lightly to the pain and pressure points 3-5 times a day . Recessan Ointment should not be rubbed in.
- In the case of dentures, please apply Recessan Ointment to the cleaned and still moist denture or immediate denture. It is not necessary to use an additional bonding agent.
Ingredients
The active ingredient is: 1 g ointment contains 30 mg polidocanol.
The other ingredients are: aluminium lactate, bitter fennel oil, sodium alginate, viscous paraffin, saccharin sodium , sage oil, highly dispersed silicon dioxide, star anise oil, thymol, titanium dioxide (E 171), white vaseline.
