Passedan® Drops is a traditional herbal medicine made from passion flower extract, intended for use in cases of nervous restlessness and difficulty falling asleep. Help you cope with everyday life in a more relaxed way – on a purely herbal basis.

The use of this traditional herbal medicine for the aforementioned conditions is based solely on long-standing use. If you do not feel any better – or indeed feel worse – after 3 weeks, consult your doctor.

Passedan® drops contain an extract of passion flower, which has been known for centuries for its sleep-promoting effects. Orange peel and cinnamon bark are also added to refine the flavour.

The passion flower

The passionflower genus is native to eastern and southern North America and comprises around 500 species. As a popular collector’s item amongst botanists, the plant became widespread in Europe during the 19th century. The passion flower used for medicinal purposes today is Passiflora incarnata. In the mid-20th century, Europeans also discovered its calming effects.

Usage

For nervous restlessness: 

• Adults: Take 20 drops 3 to 5 times a day. (On the advice of a doctor, the dose may be increased up to three times the standard amount). 
• Young people aged 12 and over: Take 20 drops 3 times a day. 

For difficulty falling asleep: 

• Adults: Take 20 drops after dinner and 30 drops before going to bed. 
• Young people aged 12 and over: Take 20 drops after dinner and 20 drops before going to bed. 

Use in children: As there is insufficient data available, use in children under 12 years of age cannot be recommended. 

Method of administration: The drops should be taken undiluted or diluted with a little water (approx. 50 ml).

Ingredients

• The active ingredient is passion flower herb. 100 g contain 50 g of a liquid extract of passion flower herb (Passiflorae herba), (extraction solvent: ethanol 54% by weight, glycerine 4% by weight, extraction ratio 1:3.8–4.3)
• The other ingredients are: glycerine, ethanol, sodium saccharin, orange peel, cinnamon bark, lemon balm leaves, purified water
• 1 ml = 0.9 g, 0.83 ml = 0.77 g corresponds to approx. 20 drops; alcohol content: approx. 50% by weight ethanol
