Guttalax® drops are a laxative.
By coming into contact with the mucous membrane of the large intestine, they gently stimulate your bowel movements. Guttalax® drops have no effect in the stomach and small intestine when used correctly. You can therefore also use the medicine if you have a sensitive stomach or suffer from stomach or intestinal ulcers. Guttalax does not affect the intestinal flora.
Guttalax® drops contain the active ingredient sodium picosulphate. This acts exclusively in the large intestine, i.e. where the constipation is located. In the large intestine, it is converted into its active form by special, naturally occurring bacteria. The "activated" sodium picosulphate stimulates the muscles of the large intestine and thus supports bowel movement.
Directions for use
- Adults and adolescents over 10 years: 10 - 20 drops (5 - 10 mg sodium picosulphate) per day.
- Children from 4 to 10 years: 5 - 10 drops (2.5 - 5 mg sodium picosulphate) per day.
Ingredients
Active substance: 7.5 mg sodium picosulphate.
Other ingredients: sorbitol solution 70%, sodium benzoate, sodium citrate dihydrate, citric acid monohydrate, purified water.
