Mexa-Vit C ratiopharm is a medicine used to treat fever and pain (e.g. headaches, aching limbs) associated with colds and flu-like infections; it also has analgesic and antipyretic effects.
Mexa-Vit C ratiopharm effervescent tablets contain a combination of the two active ingredients paracetamol and ascorbic acid (vitamin C). When vitamin C and paracetamol are taken together, the breakdown of paracetamol may be delayed; this leads to a prolongation of the pain-relieving and fever-reducing effects of paracetamol. At the same time, it meets the increased need for vitamin C during colds and flu-like infections.
Mexa-Vit C ratiopharm effervescent tablets are used in adults, adolescents and children aged 6 years and over for:
- fever and pain (e.g. headaches, aching limbs) associated with colds and flu-like infections.
If you do not feel any better after 3 days, or if you feel worse, consult your doctor.

Directions for use
- Children aged 6 years and over: ½ effervescent tablet up to a maximum of 4 times a day.
- Young people aged 12 years and over and adults (weighing at least 43 kg): 1 effervescent tablet up to a maximum of 4 times a day. There should be an interval of at least 6 hours between doses. The maximum daily dose of 4 tablets (equivalent to 2000 mg of paracetamol) must not be exceeded.
- Children under 6 years of age: The use of Mexa-Vit C ratiopharm effervescent tablets is not recommended for children under 6 years of age, as the strength of the dose is not suitable for this patient group.
- Elderly patients (aged 65 and over): No specific dose adjustment is required on the basis of age. In the event of underweight or organ dysfunction, please follow the relevant instructions.
- Method of administration: Dissolve Mexa-Vit C ratiopharm effervescent tablets in a glass or cup of cold or hot water and drink.
- Duration of use: The duration of use should be limited to the duration of the illness. Do not use for more than 3 consecutive days without a doctor’s instruction.
Ingredients
- The active ingredients are: paracetamol and ascorbic acid (vitamin C). 1 effervescent tablet contains 500 mg of paracetamol and 200 mg of ascorbic acid (vitamin C).
- The other ingredients are: lactose, sorbitol, sodium saccharin, sodium bicarbonate, citric acid, Kollidon 25, lemon flavouring, adipic acid.
