MAVAMed is a medical device for the treatment of fungal nail infections (onychomycosis). It is characterised by its unique formula containing the ‘Instant Killer’ complex, which kills the fungus in a matter of seconds and prevents it from spreading to other nails.

Onychomycosis is a nail condition caused by microscopic fungi. These fungi thrive in warm, damp and dark environments (such as shoes) and feed on keratin, the main component of the nail. They can lead to discolouration (whitish, yellowish), hardening, splitting or detachment of the nail (onycholysis).

This fungal infection is contagious, and certain factors can increase the risk of infection: damaged nails, excessive sweating, feet confined in poorly ventilated shoes, swimming in pools or practising sports barefoot, etc. 

MAVAMed Solution for Fungal Nails is a medical device for the treatment of fungal nail infections (onychomycosis). Its ‘Instant Killer’ complex stops the growth of the fungus in a matter of seconds, thereby preventing it from spreading to other nails and the brush. It consists of a blend of essential oils – lavandin, eucalyptus – and lactic acid (which lowers the nail’s pH to create an environment unfavourable to fungal infections) and urea (which helps the active ingredients penetrate the nail plate more effectively).

This product also acts as a physical barrier that prevents the spread of fungal infections. This product is intended for external use only and for application to the nail plate.

Directions for use

• Before using MAVAMed Nail Fungus Solution, remove any old nail varnish and wash the affected area thoroughly with soap and water. Apply the product twice a day (morning and evening); this will form a colourless film on the infected nail. Leave to air-dry for a short time. For even greater effectiveness, cover the treated nail with a plaster before putting on socks and shoes. It is important to continue using MAVAMed Nail Fungus Solution until the infection has completely cleared and a healthy nail has grown back. This may take several months (as a reminder, a toenail takes 9 to 12 months to grow back completely). However, if you do not see any improvement in your nail after 3 months of use, you should consult a doctor.

Pregnant and breastfeeding women should not use this product. Do not use AVAMed if you are hypersensitive to one or more of its ingredients. If you are unsure whether you can use AVAMed nail fungus solution and/or whether you can use it in combination with other medicines, please ask a doctor or pharmacist for advice. In exceptional cases, side effects may occur: erythema, irritation, oedema, pain, nail discolouration and onycholysis. However, should any undesirable side effects occur, stop using MAVAMed Nail Fungus Solution immediately and seek advice from a doctor or pharmacist.
