Autumn time is hiking time

The weather is getting milder and remains stable. This brings many nature lovers and sports enthusiasts out into the green and into the mountains.
Here, as with many things, "preparation is half the battle".

Our tips and tools for a successful hike and mountain tour:

  • Checkthe weather forecast , avoid longer tours if the weather forecast is bad and avoid the high mountains.
  • Find out how long any mountain huts and refuges are open.
  • Ankle-high footwear is recommended as the ground is usually wet in the morning hours.
  • There is no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothing. Here, too, it is important to be prepared for everything. A warm all-round jacket (windproof and waterproof), long trousers, gloves and a hat should be in your rucksack.
  • Aids such as a compass, hiking map, torch or headlamp as well as hiking poles or climbing equipment are recommended depending on the mountain tour.
  • Emergency equipment and preventative measures for possible incidents should also be considered when planning. These include a first aid bag, blister plasters, plasters for wounds, sun protection products and the right warm-up before setting off.
